I don't really know from James Arness, I confess.

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Didn't Law & Order beat out Gunsmoke's record?
Why would you say "I'm not racist but I hate black people"? I mean, at that point, aren't you okay with being taken for racist? Even a little bit?
But racism's so bad!!
Hate is just whatever.
No, because NBC canceled before that could happen.
Not that I'm bitter or anything.
I want to know who ita wants to punch! As long as it's not me.
I don't know how to feel about this, quite honestly.
You know, television wasn't born yesterday.
Yeah, and you used to be only able to get three channels, except in rare cases when the wind was right and the antenna could get the UHF frequencies.
ION, the magazine touting the annual Freedom Festival, ie, 4th of July extravaganza, arrived today, trumpeting the virtues of Family, Freedom, God, and Country. Full of pictures of happy, prosperous, white, conservative folks. Oh, wait, the drum major of the marching band on the cover is an Asian girl. Diversity achieved.
who had the world's longest and chastest romance with a brothel madam ever.
I don't know about chastest. There was always a hint that there was something going on.
L&O tied for number of seasons, but Gunsmoke had a record for number of episodes that is probably unbeatable and that's not counting a decade of radio episodes.

What about The Guiding Light, though? Or is that apples and oranges?

I get the feeling that these people really think that racists are, like, the Klan. And not the current-day Klan, either, but the kill-black-people-in-public-in-unspeakable-ways Klan (most associated with, say, the pre-1970s American South). (Not that the Klan is awesometastic these days, but I gather that their killing ways have been sharply curtailed compared to days of yore.)
Because that way, they can see their Facebook hate speech as just Telling It Like It Is.

You first worlders, with your fancy schmancy three channels. Oy.
I am bitter along with Sumi. NBC cancelled a show that had found its groove to start up one that never got one.
Great. I just got tasked with bringing someone up to speed on the nemesis project that I don't understand.
