Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

MI6 hackers replace al Qaeda bomb recipes with pirated cake recipes

Hackers working for UK intelligence agency MI6 modified an online al Qaeda magazine and replaced the bomb recipes therein with cake recipes. They called it "Operation Cupcake."

"When followers tried to download the 67-page colour magazine, instead of instructions about how to "Make a bomb in the Kitchen of your Mom" by "The AQ Chef" they were greeted with garbled computer code.

The code, which had been inserted into the original magazine by the British intelligence hackers, was actually a web page of recipes for "The Best Cupcakes in America" published by the Ellen DeGeneres chat show.

Written by Dulcy Israel and produced by Main Street Cupcakes in Hudson, Ohio, it said "the little cupcake is big again" adding: "Self-contained and satisfying, it summons memories of childhood even as it's updated for today's sweet-toothed hipsters."

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Jack Kevorkian died. The article seems to imply it was natural.

Do people still use Kevorkian's methods for suicide? Or was that something that he did personally?

Apparently the hip method of DIY home euthanasia these days is helium and a plastic bag....

Well, the seller of the helium/bag kit got arrested, didn't she?

Really?

Anyway, I thought some people were just buying their own helium and plastic bags.

Maybe they'll start to restrict sales of helium, so only people who need it for their vocations could buy it. Then when people want to euthanize themselves, a friend or family member will say, "Hey, I know this clown...."

Coding and Sleeping

Man, I'll take a cupcake over a bomb any day.

Everything is all official now, I'm be starting my new job in a bit more than a week. The offer was even better than I was expecting it to be. The commute is longer than I like, but everything about it is great and I wouldn't mind at all moving closer as I really like the area.

ION, World's smallest Klein bottle

Awww....

This Klein bottle on Etsy measures just one and a quarter inches tall! I don't know if it's actually the world's smallest, but it's believable and it's totally adorable, AND it comes in its own little gift wrapped package.
