I have no idea why I am watching the A & E biography of Eminem, but I am surprised to find he is my age, not younger. I am used to being shocked at how young people are, but this is weird.

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Windows thrown wide open, exhaust fan on. It's dry air! And it is getting cooler! It's gonna get chilly!
Just as I was finishing the last lap of my mile and a half, call to clear the pool. One of the littles had pooped. Sigh. But I got in my 54 (55, actually, I was in a groove so decided to do a few more,) just not the 6 mixed I do at the end and the wallow in the pool. Ah well, better than just missing my goal.
Went to lunch with a bunch of coworkers to celebrate one's recent marriage. Got to see pics, and holy hell, look like something out of a magazine photo shoot. It was on the beach in the DR, his bride is drop dead gorgeous and my coworker looked amaaaaaazing. They both looked like models. He's huge-6'5" and seriously built. His biceps are the size of my thighs. Or bigger. And he's the small one in the family, I just can't imagine! Anyway, he's getting a raft of shit for being so model pretty from his friends, so we just added to that. (He's seriously one of the best looking guys in the building.)
It was a good lunch, and reminded me why I value this team. We've had a rough few months, and tempers frayed a lot. But we were able to joke about it and settle back into comfortable with each other.
There was a time I'd avoid all work social things, and with larger groups (division, institute) I still do, but my teams? Yeah, I like a lot of them personally. And that's a good thing.
(And OMG, I can't believe how many have kids graduating from hs or college this month!)
Giles and House are both on this ep of MI-5. It's kinda weird.
I'm incredibly ambivalent about the Job-Job (thing. Because, on government assistance, it's often the worst of both worlds. It looks like I get more support than I do AND people don't take my artistic endeavors very seriously... it's like "I'm a writer," and they're like "Of *course* you are!" But I can only aim so high at any given time before the government gets mad at me. Sometimes I wish I'd become a shrink like I wanted to in high school. But I'm not sure if I would be writing if I had, just because that was supposed to be my "grown-up choice"
It's chilly here! At least, summer-chilly. 60! Nice.
Tis 81 here at 7pm. I turned the AC on for a bit this afternoon.
We're at 78. But it is DRY. I was airing out the house while it was still in the 80s, because the dry made 80s more comfy than 78. Supposed to drop to the low 50s tonight.
Neil DeGrasse Tyson best not diss my Clyde Tombaugh. He can demote Pluto, but DO NOT diss Clyde.
So if someone on another board says they know a black West Indian/Irish woman named ita who lived in LA in the early 2000s who did the martial arts (and was pretty, but that's not important) and she posted on TT, now's the time to get really paranoid, right? Either she knows me, or there's severe doppleganger action going on.
Because, seriously, switch Irish for Scottish and bump a few years, all I need o hear that she had blonde hair. She does spell her name with a small "i".
Curse these nom des plumes.
Funny. Watching this, every time Percival Lowell is mentioned, I remember the taste of sourdough, ham and dill havarti. I used to eat my lunch (that sandwich) on the steps of his mausoleum (in the shape of an observatory) at Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff the summer of '96.
