Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Not sayin' nothin' about no weather. Other than I had to switch long sleeves and sweatpants for short sleeves and lightweight jeans this weekend. The horror.

Aims, you're obviously very invested as a leader--they've had a great start. And when they come back to you in middle school it will be a grand reunion. Meanwhile, you'll still be sister troops and do a lot of things together.

Best wishes, Typo.

HGTV is my default channel. I'm addicted to House Hunters International now.

I love that one, too. But for those of us with a competence kink, I gotta vote for Scott McGillivray on Income Property, and OMG Curb Appeal the Block. John Giddings is the Capt. Jack Harkness of home exterior makeover, or perhaps all of HGTV, and his cohorts, A. the gorgeous Kim Lacy, knows her stuff and takes no prisoners, and B. Chip Wade, is the cutest competent carpenter who ever sledged apart a porch.

fresh air lovely chill at night to BAD AIR HELL HEAT HUMIDITY ROAST HUMANS

THIS. We had the air on Saturday and Sunday during the day, since there are no fans downstairs, but we were able to open up at night, and it was lovely. (There are also ceiling fans in the bedrooms.) Today, not so much, even though it's lovely sitting outside.

Central air will cost me around $10K. My window units will hold up until I can do that and am willing to lose some closet space. (And OMG HOW, Dana? How did your brain not melt??)

It's 77 downstairs! Who knew setting the bedroom ac to 70 would make that much of a difference so fast!

I also reserve the right to post indoor temps.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I grew up in South Florida and we had AC units in every room, but honestly the house with the ceiling fans everywhere kept everything more pleasant. Of course, that house was on a freshwater canal so we got more of a breeze and it wasn't stifling, still humidity.

Oh honey, the mentally unwell people have been in the fanbase since Game Changers was Stucky fanfiction on the internet. The calls have been coming from inside the house the whole time!

Seriously, why would anyone turn their A/C off when they're going to bed? That's when I crank it up!

I love AC. We can live without it, but it's hard. I think we'll get a new unit for the living room this year. Totally worth it.

Polgara came over for grilled meats, but I also made a quinoa and spinach fried cake that was amazingly yummy. Sauteed spinach mixed with quinoa, egg and Parmesan, patted into patties and cooked in oil, which was adapted from a NYT recipe Holy shit. IT WAS YUMMY.

Also, I made homemade pop tarts with Biscoff and Nutella inside. NOM.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

(And OMG HOW, Dana? How did your brain not melt??)

That's nice, giving me the benefit of the doubt.

I often snuck into my parents' room and slept on the floor.

Before tonight, it was fine! Windows open and ceiling fans on, and under the one (light) comforter was perfectly comfortable. The humidity is too high tonight, though.

Also, if I don't have to run the central air, it's less money I owe the electric company.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I am never living like that again. You people are crazy.

I am a whore for central air. When our a/c died in August last year, I was willing to shell out a hefty premium to get it replaced right away.

Fortunately some friends had 2 window units that we put in the bedroom and dining room (the house really IS small, and the one in the dining room was...sufficient to cool the dining room/living room [ish]), and then after 2 weeks the weather broke and we were fine, and then in December we got the whole central air/furnace dealie replaced. And this new one is shockingly efficient, as evidenced by how quickly it cools the house and how fucking cold it gets it even though we set the digital thermostat to 72.

To sum up: goddamn humidity. It can die in a fire.
