Natter 67: Overriding Vetoes
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, nail polish, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Time being outside amongst the humans can be crossed off the list for today. Too many jerkasaurus dingbats are outside, though, so we're back indoors now. Behind our own doors, where the other humans are not allowed.
Speaking of dingbats - I did my morning weigh-in this morning and I was so pleased with the result that DH took me out to lunch. I had a bacon cheeseburger. Oops. Time to go guzzle water and hope the scale doesn't rat me out on Monday.
So far, I think Jesse is winning the Pleasant Way to Spend a Saturday award.
I've had a rather homey Saturday so far, but I hope to end big by going out for cocktails with the hubby this evening.
I love grated daikon as a condiment for fish.
Not the first thing I think of when I'm making fish myself, mind you, but now that you mention it--yum.
I have a fairly average and therefore accessible bra size, in theory, except most don't fit because my breasts are "shallow." That's bra maker speak for "too flat to fit in a C-cup and too round to fit in a B."
Went to Pilates class, had lunch while watching the Yankees with the DH (Yes, on our BIGASS TV). I am now abandoning him to the game to go out and garden. I think I am going to get lucky with someone younger than I am later, as well. Nookie on tap, baby!
Scrappy, are you from NY originally?
You cradle robber, Scrappy.
so far we went out fro breakfast. did all the touch work on the room I painted this week , I made turkey burgers to cook later and now DH is putting a coat of finish o the floor he did some work on earlier this week. I am trapped in the bedroom with the cat. Who was cranky , but now seem ready for a nap
No, born in Milwaukee, them moved to Northern Va when I was a kid. The DH became a Yankees fan when he was 8 because his grandpa (who lived in Bayonne) was. I became one because once I started watching games with him, I got into it. We lived in NYC and went to quite a few games at the old stadium.
I know they have way WAY too much money and the late GS was an asshole, but I love a lot of the players--Posada, Jeter, and the always awesome Mariano Rivera in particular.
So a couple of weeks ago Hubby and I got a letter from the IRS saying "Congratulations, you have a $300 rebate that you didn't claim, have a check." Yay, we went and paid off half of some new glasses for us.
Thursday we got a letter from the IRS. "Congratulations, you didn't declare that lump sum Social Security Disability payment you got, please pay us $859." Yay? And damn it, they're right, because I don't have a copy of a form I would have used in filing that payment with the taxes.
Fortunately they take payments, even though they do charge interest.
I think I might have gotten a little sunburned cheering the marathoners. I finished the laundry and slathered up 4 spindles to take down to wood tomorrow and did the first coat on the last 1/4 of the last 9. Yes, that makes sense.
Also swam. Before all that. Over two miles (by a smidge), whooeee!
I'd call day pretty successful. Good mix of fun and social and productive (I love finishing my errands before noon. )
Scrappy, I like Jeter and Rivera too. And liked Torre when he was there too. But on principle of being a Red Sox fan for years (though not really into them anymore - once they won WS twice, they weren't such the underdogs), just can't like them. I did root very hard for them to win the WS in 2001; I thought NY could use it after 9/11. But the stupid Snakes beat them.
