Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Of course, it can be tricky to tell since they don't have any idea when the got preggers -- but the babies are on the small side.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

By month eight or nine, though, when that baby is kicking and rolling and sometimes hiccuping, it's got to be a *really* small baby not to notice it. At least in my experience.

My mom's comment along these lines is, "How could a woman not know she was pregnant? You were like a little ham rolling around in there!"

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

I was wonky periods, anemic, Rh positive and prone to bulking up or slimming down quickly. A friend mentioned I'd gained weight, but he's kind of an ass about that stuff, and I wasn't eating well.

Around 16 weeks and didn't know until my naked ass was on a stretcher being wheeled to the ER.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

My mother had 36 hours of labour with me, so the women who don't notice until the baby's pretty much out boggle me even further.

But I have a really aggressive period, which I've only skipped once, and that was a cause for much panicking, even though pregnancy was not a fear at the time.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

I can't imagine not knowing all the way up to term.

snerk at Mommy's Little Ham

Got a talk in with my dad and a little bit with my mom. Confirmed a lot of what I already thought about my living situation but it's nice to have the issues out in the open air anyway.

ION, finally bit the bullet about the raised beds. The ready-made ones are so expensive but my mom is so picky about how things look (for instance, she thinks naturally weathered wood is ugly) that the cheaper home-built alternatives wouldn't work. Should have the raised bed by next week and when I find the soil to fill it, I will be able to decompress and channel my upsets into something productive and eventually calming. Plus have vegetables, herbs, cut flowers, and fruits.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Plants are a good thing!

Guess what? My sister got the job at the Venetian!!!! She starts in November. She was starting to freak out over not working, since she's been out of a job since May of last year, and she's an IT person.

Brother starts his job in Florida on November 1, so we'll be a fully employed bunch of siblings until I get laid off from my job, most likely sometime next year.

Congrats to your sister and brother, Kathy, and I hope you find something you like that starts as soon as you like after the layoff.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Wore a purple shirt, with matching earrings and hairsticks. Didn't see anyone else wearing purple, but I'm in a small lab. Nobody said anything about my purple, but this is a color normally in my rotation, so wearing it today wasn't unusual.

Now tagless for your comfort.

16 weeks isn't unusual--most first time moms don't notice movement until then. And even that is very slight fluttering. But 7 or 8 months still blows my mind how someone just doesn't know.

My Vulcan ears are still not in. I hope they're here by Friday. I'd like to perfect my costume before the party Saturday night.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

We have had a pissy afternoon and evening. Mac just took a tone with me from minute one of picking up from school and I FUCKING LOST IT. I left him to himself and did some house cleaning and work including:

vacuuming the bedrooms and halls
putting mattress enclosures back on his beds
folding laundry
hanging tiny strand of orange halloween lights
drawing 3rd Jack-o-Lantern
taking sliding wheels off one set of closet doors
emptying yet another small box
framing a picture

I got us both dinner and he did nothing but watch tv and play his ds. I asked about a school assignment and he started yelling at me again. The tv is no longer hooked up and he is on his own for bedtime. He won't leave my room though so I have no idea how that will go down when I start shutting off lights in 20 minutes.
