The few times I've been cable-less and watching shows online instead, the picture quality just depressed me. Maybe we shouldn't have bought such a nice TV when we upgraded everything to HD!

I value finding things I wasn't looking for.
Like, the difference between a great song coming up on the radio and just punching it up on your iPod?
Me too.
Similar to what I like about going into a bookstore and browsing. It's a form of thinking for me, a kind of meditation. I get the same thing from scrolling through the listings of upcoming TCM movies and marking them to record then watching them.
Yeah, I did scale down my cable and lose TCM, but I do miss that a little. Not enough to pay fifteen or twenty bucks a month, but a little.
I enjoy those thing too, just not enough to pay for the difference of Netflix vs. cable. $9.80 vs. $80.00/month. Plus, I can browse the movies on Netflix and build a ridiculously long queue to surprise me.
Bleagh. I'm already losing the oomph to get on pubtrans to Echo Park for this life drawing session.
Yeah, I already got rid of all premium channels and don't miss them at all. Next I need to see what the channel line up on Oakland Comcast is if I scale down to the cheapest plan possible. Once Hulu is available on Roku, I'll be thrilled (some shows I love, such as "Modern Family", aren't on video on demand).
I am very lucky in that I don't pay for Tivo (friend gave me her series 2 with lifetime service). But I am more and more tempted to upgrade to the HD Tivo (the one that replaces the cable box) - just for sports! Maybe before next baseball season...
Sorry if this belongs in tech thread.
Whew! Checked into hotel number 2. So you guys need to know the minutia of my day, right?
I bought that pizza last night so I could skip breakfast and sleep in. Which was awesome. So I sauntered out of the hotel at 11:30 or so. Went to the dry cleaners I`d google mapped. And they only do hour cleaning for a few random hours. Reader, I went to six cleaners, missing each one by literally minutes. At the last one I surrendered and just got it pressed. So Perkins` dress looks pretty even if it isn`t actually clean.
To reward myself I drove all the way to the mall at the north side of town where there was a) Barnes & Noble, b) mango smoothie at Haagen Daaz, and c) Sephora! Where I realized that yes, the smashbox shadows are the colors I want.
It was super packed and yes, with Asians, so I didn`t get done up, but I did get advice which should be helpful.
So although it didn`t go the way l`d planned, Ima call it a qualified success. Now to work on my presentation and maybe get a quick shower in before tonight`s missions dinner.
Other than pickling for banh mi, what I can I do with daikon?
Oh, dear. Trauma. I've been needing to get refit for bras for awhile, it's true. I just...didn't expect to go down a band size, and in my family going up a cup size or three is always fodder for trauma. My sister was very unsympathetic.
Somehow, getting pretty bras should soften the blow, but MFery, that shit was expensive. Maybe I should have stuck with the Wacoal nursing-looking bras. Ah well, too late.
insent, ita.
