Well, look who just popped open a fresh can of venom.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Can I just say, I think I'm going to explode from the effort of not getting spoiled for Mad Men before I can see it? Which may be tonight, but may NOT be??

Also, I wonder what I did to change the fonts on here, but I kind of like it, so.

Hey all! I've had this horrible cold/flu thing for days which made it hard to even look at a computer screen (which has been thrilling, let me tell you) but I have had lots of quality time with my couch and my house's extensive DVD collection.

I watched most of S1 of Buffy this weekend, which I hadn't seen in years, and... wow. I had forgotten how... silly? The first season is. I also just about bust a gut laughing when Cordelia pulled an antenna out of a cell phone. I also apparently had forgotten how OLD the first season is.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Plei or Jilli, I couldn't find Poshe top coat at Sally's today so I bought Seche Vite--what are the major differences between the two?

Seche was my go-to top coat for a long time, before I converted to Nubar's Diamont. Seche is THICK, but dries super-quick. You may get some shrinkage of polish from the nail tips, and extended use of Seche made my nails peel like crazy.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

I can relate, Jesse. Someone spoiled me for something big last night. And I won't be able to see it 'til this season goes to DVD.

I was going to go to Descanso Gardens today to try to cheer myself up but now I'm hemming and hawing because they're having a plant sale this weekend and I feel like I should make that admission fee count by going then. It's just that past experience teaches me that if I delay, something will come up that will prevent me from going on the other day. Heh.

I like that Yeats.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

OMG I am so in love with this cupcake shop. I stopped en route to the town where I grew up. But I stopped in the town where I was born, looking for a Starbucks. Instead I found Blake's Cafe & Cupcakery, where I bought a mozzarella and tomato salad, a mocha, and a buckeye cupcake. So delicious.

And while I've been online, various members of the family have trickled in. Including, finally, grampa and a little boy who is probably autistic, who has greeted everyone in the place, all of whom seem to know him, and is now playing with the ribbons on the gift basket stand. Everyone behind the counter greeted him with joy. It is love.

Aww, now he's having a serious conversation with pops about how big fairy godmothers are. Different sizes, says pops. Smaller than you? Probably up to about here, he says.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

I love going to family-run establishments! There used to be a wonderful German diner up here where I'd get great brats and homemade potato salad for lunch. The elderly mom did the cooking, her 40-something daughters were the waitresses, and when school was out, her pre-teen granddaughter would bring out the silverware, paper placemats, and water glasses for everyone. I guess she ended up retiring and the place closed, sadly.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Can I just say, I think I'm going to explode from the effort of not getting spoiled for Mad Men before I can see it?

I think I might have gotten spoiled for something by not clicking away fast enough from the thread, but I think I have vague spoilers or notions about several major developments by now. When I finally get around to watching the show, maybe I'll have forgotten. I think I'm doing Breaking Bad next. Well, after Jekyll, since it's only six episodes and on Netflix Instant.
