Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

DJ, my sympathies for all who knew him.

sara, I didn't get the robocall, but I'm livid anyway. Ehrlich's camp is saying that they had nothing to do with it, and I believe them. It would be utterly foolish otherwise. This is independent money (as a result of the Supreme Court decision) at work. Gansler's already opened an investigation.

Ehrlich's running mate, Mary Kane, is a friend of mine from law school. Still didn't make me vote for the ticket.

DJ that is awful.

Yeah, I pretty much place the blame of the robocall on a 3rd party with no fucking sense of decency or concept of citizenship. It was so fucking shady. I dislike Ehrlich A LOT, but this sort of thing is campaign suicide.

Lord, and if it was targetted at the city particularly? Ugly, ugly, ugly.

lisah, I met Mary W. at one of my next door neighbor's dinner parties. They'd been neighbors for a while, but never knew it until they got assigned to the same beat in VA campaigning for Obama. She's just so genuine. I honestly think she could out represent Mary Pat in the long term. Cracks me up I see her almost every week at the market.

Now tagless for your comfort.

DJ, I'm so sorry.

I found out about a kid who went to my grade school who collapsed at a Norfolk navel base and died. He was only 39. So strange.

I'm trying to dispassionately follow election results but that's not working.

I don't think it was. WTOP reported that the calls were received state-wide. Still ugly as hell though.

A bright spot to my day: I wrote a short piece for my MOMS Club newsletter and one of the women emailed me to tell me it really hit home for her. That feels good.

Now, if Russ Feingold can hang onto his Senate seat, my night will be complete.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

Anyone bring out the hard booze yet?

I knew it wouldn't be a heartening election, but I have to say I was surprised that (a) Pelosi lost her seat and (b) Rand Paul got elected.

I'm pretty sure Pelosi is not losing her seat, although I assume she is losing the speakership.

Jilli is at the top!

I hope it works this time.
