Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Holy crap -- I just got a personalized email from my favorite store in New York, and I REALLY REALLY want one of the dresses she included! Too bad it's way too expensive, and she only made 4, so it will never be on sale.

information libertarian

The polls closed an hour ago, and there are no results yet! I hate waiting! And all our voting is touch-screen, so there is no need for any paper-counting related delays.

Oh man, someone out there is playing dirty. I'm still getting robocalls. Listening to them tonight, @7:15, I get one from my House rep, saying something about how the polls are open until 8, that's there are calls going around to dems implying they don't need to vote, this is an attempt at voter disenfranchisement, etc. I'm like Wha? @7:20 I have a very weird vague message about "O'Malley and Obama have gotten the job done, everything is fine and all that's left to do is watch it on tv" with no identification or affiliation given. Pretty sure that's what prompted the earlier robocall. BAD FUCKING FORM. Jesus christ. I hate people.

I haven't gotten a single robocall this time around. Huh. I wonder if they figured out I'm not actually a Republican.

Of course, I also got NY voting materials, with my MA address on them...

And now Jon is playing Frontier Psych for me.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

We'll be watching returns, but right now my directivo is acting up. I suspect it's something about the 1,300 messages about how it hasn't been able to call home in all that time and is very lonely and wants to cry. I was deleting them regularly for about the first year, and then I kinda quit, and then the tivo started hanging up if I tried to go to the messages, and now I think it's eaten up all the tivo's brane.

So I'm running off last year's Blackhawks cup win to the other dvr (so I can have it forever and pets it and hugs it my precious) and then I'm about to nuke the tivo HD. With fingers crossed vehemently because of the whole, there is no more directivo despite years of promises, thing.

Anyway. Two more hours, and then an hour of reformatting, and then returns. Which is fine, because the polls here don't close for another couple of hours anyway.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

And meanwhile, I'm folding newsletters, which is a perfect return-watching activity, because neither thing requires complete attention.

Something about elementary school gyms and cafs makes you revert a little bit. When the poll worker with the stickers asked who wanted one, the 4 of us all stuck our hands up all meMe!ME!...and uh, actually said that outloud. And then everyone stood there proudly like we were getting gold starts or something. It was cute.
