We've had about 120 so far, and are mostly done I think. Started very slow, not much at all until 7pm (it didn't get dark until then) and then big bunches. The kids are more interested in the silly bands they got than candy! Hope we can get them to bed soon - wakeup time is 6:45 for school at 7:35.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I've never lived anywhere (as an adult on my own) that we had trick-or-treaters.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

I'm afraid we're looking at best a delay. Grr.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I haven't since the first place I lived in DC (15ish years ago), but tonight I got to help give out candy at my parents'. They had like 10 trick or treaters in three groups while I was there, all of whom were little and adorable.

Remember my friend had a baby named Axa? His full name is Axayácatl. Definitely Mayan!

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Neighbor kids just stopped by. Lazy little buggers were wearing their soccer uniforms as a 'costume.'

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Neighbor kids just stopped by. Lazy little buggers were wearing their soccer uniforms as a 'costume.'

Tell me at least one of them was lying on your lawn, clutching his leg and screaming.

Because books.

Halloween is HUGE here. We just got back, and the streets were packed. People were running out of candy by seven!

Also really chilly tonight. My fingers are numb. But Hello Kitty had a blast, and hauled home a lot of loot. Which I will pick through once she's in bed.

Ben stayed home to answer the door, and we're almost out of candy. I bought seven bags!

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I thought I might get more trick-or-treaters after we got sidewalks a couple of years ago, but not really. There were a couple, and then Mr Peabody became so excited I turned the light off.

I'm wondering if I'll get trick or treaters here--the neighborhood is OK for it, but my place is down a walkway behind another house, so we'll see. Two of my friends came over earlier and we carved pumpkins, so I put that on my porch as a sign. I only bought one bag of candy.
