Look, Angel, I know you've been out of the loop for a while, but I'm still evil. I don't do errands...unless they're evil errands.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I should probably get dressed and go to Target and Trader Joes before I start Watching Empire records, shouldn't I?

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Why am I still sleepy? I got over 9 hours of sleep.(Would have slept even later if Gary hadn't nudged me awake.) Meh.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

I got married in April 2010. Do I file jointly with Dan for 2010, or do I have to wait until 2011?

From [link]

"Your marital status on the last day of the year determines your marital status for the entire year."

And while there are situations where it is beneficial to file separately rather than jointly, they are pretty rare: [link]

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

In space news:

NASA Pluto Probe Passes Orbit of Uranus

A NASA probe speeding toward the distant dwarf planet Pluto hit a major checkpoint today (March 19) when it crossed the orbit of Uranus.

NASA's New Horizons spacecraft encountered Uranus' orbit today at 6 p.m. EDT (2200 GMT) while flying 1.8 billion miles (2.9 billion kilometers) from Earth.

...

The spacecraft is expected to reach Pluto and its three moons (Charon, Nix and Hydra) in July 2015, after which it might also encounter smaller bodies in the distant Kuiper Belt, which is the ring of icy bodies beyond Neptune's orbit.

I remember all the years when they kept canceling the mission and then starting it up again....

NASA Probe Becomes First Spacecraft to Orbit Mercury

A well-traveled NASA probe made history late Thursday (March 17), becoming the first spacecraft ever to enter into orbit around Mercury.

NASA's Messenger spacecraft fired its main thruster in a 15-minute orbital insertion burn Thursday night to slow down by about 1,900 mph (3,058 kph), enough to enter Mercury's gravitational influence and settle into orbit around the planet.

About an hour after the 8:54 p.m. EDT (0054 GMT) engine burn it was official: Messenger was in a looping, 12-hour orbit around the solar system's innermost planet.

Mercury now has an artificial satellite, for the first time ever.

Yay!

Jilli, I didn't want to bother you yesterday, but you were in my thoughts. If we could have swung the airfare, we would have been there.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Jilli, much love to you and yours. Glad Cass was there.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

According to the NYT, castles can be had for bargain prices. Shall we chip in for Fortress Buffista?

Dude, CASTLE DRACULA IS FOR SALE. The current owner can't deal with the taxes. Guess how badly I want this, go on, guess. I could even make a quasi-legitimate family claim for it, since we are descended from good ol' Vlad by way of a serving girl.

If we could have swung the airfare, we would have been there.

Awwww, thank you, love. I'm still poking at the budget and seeing if we can swing a quick trip down to see you.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh, Jilli. I hope your friends and family were and continue to be a comfort.

In other news, man, the internet makes it easy to be lazy. I just ordered jeans from both Banana Republic and Gap in one fell swoop. I'm guessing the Gap won't work, but at least I didn't have to go shopping. I tried on some Banana jeans at Goodwill yesterday, and they fit really well, but I couldn't tell if they were flattering, because the mirror in there was the worst mirror ever.
