At this point, the only options are : somehow made into my bed from the last time I did laundry or the washer ate it. Because clothes go in 4 places: closet, laundry, chair, closet floor. And it is in none of those.

And I LIKE that shirt, damnit. It's a plain black boatneck workhorse I've had for over a decade and it still looks new.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Crap. I was supposed to do laundry today. I was waiting until it cooled down some from the fire, and now it's evening and it's all still in a big pile on the bed. Your shirt is probably there.

Mmm, pumpkin muffins. I have pumpkin. I have muffins tins. Who better than me?

Burrell, those look yum! Also, we're going to go to Platine tomorrow to get cookies (and use up a groupon) but we have a party in the midmorning. So... we'll maybe be on your side of town but maybe not. How's that for a lack of precision?

Noah had a goodish time at his parade: [link] I think he got picked on for being a cow and a not a superhero. One of the older boys kept pulling his cow tale which was not okay. Then he burst into tears when we left (and I understand). But the witch cupcakes were a big hit.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Noah makes an adorable cow. And it's totally not OK for the older kids to pick on the younger ones. What's up with that?

So... we'll maybe be on your side of town but maybe not. How's that for a lack of precision?

Hey, life with kids. Franny's soccer game is 9:45 and Isaac's is at 10, so mid morning is precisely when we're busy. Oy. Isn't that how it always is? Noonish? Or you at the party then?

Call me and let's cross fingers something works out.

Because books.

At the town Halloween parade last night, while we were waiting to begin, a tweenish boy dressed as the Grim Reaper came up to several of our little kids (Sara, for instance, and younger, even a three-year-old) and STARED DOWN at them in his mask, completely freaking them out.

I asked who he was, expecting it to be a kid we knew (and then to scold him, because hey, LITTLE kids), and it was a complete stranger. So not right. Go scare your own friends, kid.

Now I want pumpkin muffins.

I don't know. It's a rec center thing. And the thought of that many preschoolers makes me dizzy. But both kids can get more wear on their costumes which is always fun.

So, anyone who has met Grace knows how loudly she breaths out of her trach. It's super loud. We have missed an opportunity this year to have her go as Darth Vader. It would have been perfect.

We went to trunk and treat at the catholic church a friend attends (I love trunk and treat events!) and the scariest costume? A girl was dressed as a trash can. She'd actually crouch down in the can and when someone lifted the lid to throw something away she'd jump up.

It's a good scary though. You know?

Aw, a tiny Vader! That would have been cute. There was a really wee Yoda tonight at the church thing.
