Thanks so much!
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, nail polish, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

Shit, shit, shit. I have to write a bio of myself, for work. Third person, right?
You should refer to yourself throughout the entire bio as "Bob Dole".
BWAH.
Bah. At the new office I have no privacy - my boss can see everything I do. So today I got busted for spending too much time on b.org. So it looks like I won't be spending much or any time here during working hours.
Sad now.
(accidentally posted this in Movies first.)
I think it's a generational thing. Definitely a lot more young guys are doing it.
I have seen so many guys who almost completely dispel their appeal with too-thin, obviously tweezed eyebrows. I actually think too much grooming there looks bad on women as well, but at least there's a tradition of it for them.
Well, too-thin is definitely feminizing, but too-thick is just scary. Plus, when the brow hairs fall well below the bony brow ridge and actually partially obscure the eye? Time for a little neatening of the line. Paul Wesley, paging Paul Wesley to the manbrow salon!
Boo, Tommy! I will miss your posts.
Does anyone have any tips for how to clean vintage faux pearls? I scored an enormous motherload of them today, but I need to make them less dusty and gunky.
Jilli, I've placed pearls into clean nylons and then dunked the whole thing into a sink with mild shampoo. I just massaged the pearls within the nylon for a while and it worked really well.
Whip mild dish soap in warm to tepid water. Let pearls soak for a few minutes, place in cool water, twice or more times till the water stays clear. Lay carefully on a soft towel to dry. Some of the string, if it's cotton or silk, may be rotten and break, but better at home than when you're out. If you need to restring, use dental floss, and knot between each bead.
ETA: java's method works fine. But with pearls of unknown vintage and quality, the string is always suspect and should be treated as fragile.
I knew you people would have answers for me!
I assume I should clean them before I reassemble the assorted strands into the giant necklace I'm making?
