Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Maybe I'll do it.

If I had to do it over again (which I might, on my MacBook), I bet I could do it in half an hour. But you should probably google the instructions for a MacBook Pro first. I'm guessing you'd need more than fingernails to pry that aluminum bezel off.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'm a little pouty because someone called my use of Bleeding Cowboy cliche, and well, *I've* never seen it before. However, I'm going to breathe and get past it. I trust youse guys.

Someone on IO9 asked who'd you'd like to see play a Starfleet captain. The most intriguing suggestion I saw was Helen Mirren. Oh, that would be marvellous. I vote for Idris Elba, myself.

oh hell yes.

ita, I'm seeing Bleeding Cowboy out in circulation, but it's not necessarily cliche. If someone wants to play snobbymcFontypants, tell them you know People.

I don't think any onerosity of today can beat Sunday. I have a deployment, an ER trip, and a panel to go to. My day starts at midnight, and I have no idea how I'm going to pace everything. But...I am going to the panel, and I am going to the ER, and the application is being deployed.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

This. Cliche would be Birth Of A Hero (to use the same designer), or Nashville, (which I adore and Lucero has used).

Colin Salmon. If he can't be James Bond, I'd love to see him be a Starfleet captain.

Oh, god, I'm glad I didn't see Nashville, because I might have used it, and then I would totally have deserved the cliche hammer.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Nice so instead of seeing that people may have had a point, Cake Wrecks just doubles down on the king cake thing. [link]

I think that's the problem with snarky humor sometimes. Mocking something you're not a part of is risky,

When I read yesterday's Cake Wrecks post (I did NOT read the comments, however), I assumed they were mocking *badly made* King Cakes, but not King Cakes in general, since the blog's point is to make fun of badly made cakes but not cake in general.

but then when people take offense, you probably shouldn't tell them not to be so sensitive, and then mock the fact that they were offended.

I totally agree with this.

Even if I didn't pick up on the parts of yesterday's post (and the comments) that were mocking the King Cake tradition, there's really never any call to make fun of people for being offended by something you said/did.

t edit I didn't say that quite right. *I* didn't detect mocking of the tradition in the post itself, but that doesn't mean it wasn't there, and that kind of mocking isn't cool. And then less cool is making fun of people for being offended.
