Argh! Why did I read the story on the nytimes site about women dieting using pregnancy hormones and 500 calories/day?? I knew it would fill me with rage!

Performance review coming up. Wish me luck.
Good luck, Brenda! Weren't you the one with the crazy awesome review last year? I'm sure you'll do well.
I have mine later today. We got assessed weeks ago but I don't know my grade. I've been on edge waiting for it as this year the difference between grades means thousands of $$ for me. I know my boss is in my corner, but it's so hard to get above target in this company.
Yeah, WTFF.
I'm instead going to focus on wondering if the jambalaya in the cafeteria today will be any good. Also on offer: Crawfish etouffe and catfish poboys, among other things.
We are having pancakes for dinner tonight!
Back in the old days....
THE LANGUAGE OF THE Homosexual (Oct, 1965)
It’s interesting that he defines “Coming out” as essentially discovering that one is gay instead of becoming public about it. I guess that this makes sense since being publicly gay in the 60′s wasn’t really an option.
Huh.
Some of the terms I've never heard before:
Benrus Queen: a homosexual, not necessarily effeminate, who derives gratification from watching others perform a sex act.
Haven't heard "camp" used like this:
Camp: A life-of-the-party person, usually one who attracts attention by utilizing the mannerisms of the other sex.
Green Queen: the individual who frequents public parks to seek gratification in the concealment of the trees and bushes. The added danger of detection plus the feeling of exposure in public apparently enhances the excitement of the sexual experience.
I think "green queen" might have a different connotation these days....
Hopefully both of you do well on your performance reviews. One of the benefits of working for myself is that I don't have to go through them. Of course the real performance review for me is getting clients to keeps hiring me.
Holy crap, I am in a funk.
One of my roller derby team members is a radio disc jockey. She interviewed Josh Groban yesterday and is so cute! I love her.
But is it a funky funk?
I will attempt to do the following today:
- write cover letters for 3 jobs and submit with resume
- work on mac's very late annual report
But first I am going to go knit with people for a couple of hours because it will make me get out of my head and force me to make myself get out of sweats.
