Hey, drive-by post here, sorry. Just want to say thanks for the kind words about my Celebrity Apprentice review, and that my wife and I got a kick out of JZ's Matilda story.

It was really funny, Hayden. Good job. It seemed to get a lot of positive response in the comments too.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Daisy Jane, I would love your take on this King Cake recipe.

Authentic or not, it is tasty, and my co-workers love it. I'm just curious to know if it passes muster or if it's as infuriating to you as the NY Times' recipe for Gooey Butter Cake was to me.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Traditional king cake doesn't have a filling but bonus points for the Steen syrup.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Mmmm. I liked when my CEO was from New Orleans and we would get king cake shipped in. That was good times.

Yeah, or one year my coworker had to go to New Orleans for work a week or so before, and brought us all back king cake. Mmm.

...I have no idea what "gooey butter cake" is, but now I want it, Anne!

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

It's basically a coffee cake with a yellow cakey base, and a sticky-gooey custard (which when baked, crusts over) on top.

Me too. Also, a French king cake. But I'm two months late on that one.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I'm starting to think Jessica Seinfeld is onto something -- I just put what I hope is my last bag of grated zucchini out of the freezer into spaghetti sauce, and it was totally imperceptible, eaten.
