Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

You're in Cali? Does pot help at all with migraines? I know some people who have received relief from migraine pain and sensitivity from it.

My migraine specialist is adamantly against it. It's not as effective as the prescription stuff I currently take, but being second on the list is...well, it's a really short list of stuff that works.

Thanks, guys. They took a bit of time coming back with the dilaudid. Why would a doctor say to me "Let's see if this works this way?" if I'm in here every week having it done a different way for a reason? She just looked exasperated when I explained to her that my specialist specifically wanted me to be given the meds together. But she agreed.

Then, when I next paged a nurse, the nurse showed up with a second dose. Now, I was going to ask for a second dose...but seriously--I can't keep track of what's okay and what's not okay. I could have been going to ask for water or a blanket, and she shows up with dilaudid. That I had to plead for three hours earlier.

Calories information in restaurants is fascinating. I love hunting through the lists to find out what's the most caloriffic. Some of that shit is awe-inspiring. CPK blew my mind last time I was there.

oh dear--I suspect I don't want to know!!

Eh, if it works it works! And if not, no need to keep it up. I'd totally do it if I thought it would help (though probably not smoking it--I hate the smell). I'm frustrated because the past week or so I've had a headache in the morning something like 4 or 5 out of 7 days. They weren't all awful (Monday's and yesterday's were, but drugs helped) but still! WTF, body?

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

My appetite right now is shot. It is AWESOME.

Eventually they'll take away the good drugs.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Lunch is shaping up to be this grapfruit

Trudy, make sure that the drugs you're on don't interact with grapefruit. It can seriously fuck you up, depending on the drug. (Or, if you're too loopy from the drugs, shoot me an e-mail and I'll look stuff up for you.)

Since I take so many drugs at any given time, I've just chosen a no-tolerance stance for my own personal self when it comes to grapefruit. Which sucks, because I love a good ruby red grapefruit.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Man, unmedicated me is not the best me but unmedicated me can nom grapefruit all she wants. Can't breathe, but I can eat grapefruit.

Poor tow truck came just as it switched over to a downpour. Turns out, he grew up just down the street!

Anyway, my mechanic will be busy next week. 2 other cars were dropped off by AAA trucks while I was there.

Man, bundt cakes. I'm pretty impressed this one came out even partially, since it was dusted with sugar and topped (bottomed) with apple, but still. It's so fucking dicey.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I waited until the antibiotic and vicodin were done to have the grapefruit. The only drug I'm still taking is naproxin, oh and nortryptiline.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Dad came up today. He'll be busy at the end of the month when it's my b-day, so he wanted to take me out this weekend. We went over to the auto parts store so I could get my wiper blades replaced (turned out to be a saga because we didn't get the right ones the first time out, but eventually we got it right), then headed over to the clothes store so I could take advantage of their one-day sale, which I combined with my perks card. Ended up spending $120 on $190 worth of clothes (3 bras, 2 night shirts, and 2 pairs of jeans, some of which I can wear now, and some I'll have to wait a bit), and then Dad gave me a gift card for the rest of what he was intending to give me for my b-day.

We also went out for a late lunch at the Uzbek restaurant down the road. The waiter was very good at upselling Dad, so we had a bunch of stuff before the entrees came out (spicy beets, bread, pickled watermelon, and Dad had a bowl of borscht with his Russian beer). My entree was lamb kabob, which was super tasty and I nommed most of it (more than I probably should have, but it was sooooo good), and Dad had the garlic chicken, which was a full half-chicken! He's got food for a few more meals with those leftovers. And then the waiter got Dad to order dessert on top of all that, a really good Napoleon.

I'll be surprised if I'm in the mood to eat dinner before 9:00 tonight.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I need to finish off my current Lamb Helper (yeah, it's like home-made Hamburger Helper, only with ground lamb) which was outstanding. I got a premixed batch of "Berbere Ethiopian" spices and added a teaspoon full, which made it quite noticeably spicy -- not HOT spicy, but full of exotic yummy flavoring.

Next batch of turkey lentil chili I make is going to be outstanding.
