"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I would like to applaud Sox for managing to be a much better person than the one her mother wanted her to be.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Hear hear.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I've been crazy busy so I know I must have missed a ton of stuff. And I'm about to dive back into grading and office hours, but I am just weighing in on the parenting: My mom was a wonderful mother. When I was a child, I thought she was the Platonic ideal of motherliness.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

I just got called out as a project manager on a friend's facebook page.

It seems diagramming your friend's relationship/family status is a dead giveaway.

not your mom's socks.

Thanks guys, we're trying really hard not to lose it, and, you know, to stay supportive.

Vortex, your patience and humor are something I've admired and tried to copy. I stink at it, but I'm still trying.

Go Burrell's mom!

eta: I have to say that Danger Days is a really good soundtrack to play off against the current lifetrack.

Always Anti-fascist!

George Will got an *engraved invitation* for the crazy train. But he's still on it.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

In the end I don't mind who my parents made me. Tough shit if they want to switch it up and be more conventional now, though. That ship done sailed.

Good god, I hate timesheets. And I really hate retroactive timesheets. And I can't remember what Friday it was I worked half a day, dammit. My record keeping sucks.

Coding and Sleeping

I'm sorry about your mother's crazy, Sox.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Ergh, Sox.

Good god, I hate timesheets. And I really hate retroactive timesheets. And I can't remember what Friday it was I worked half a day, dammit. My record keeping sucks.

I can't remember anything. I just go through my e-mails for each day hoping they provide a clue as to what projects I worked on (we have to bill our hours to specific projects).

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Dare I to ask just what George Will did recently? (Probably not starting to wear an ascot, though I could hope.)
