Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

That was some weak material.

Did Bruce Vilanch script the show? If so, they may want to bring in fresh blood. Last night was staler than the 5-year old coffee I found in the bank of the pantry yesterday.

Punishingly Intricate

Did Bruce Vilanch script the show?

I think they have a number of writers, including Ricky Gervais this year.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

They need to just let Ricky host. With a 7 second delay button.

What she said. Though if he really did script part of the show, I hope it wasn't any of the Franco/Hathaway stuff. That would be disappointing.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I think lisah is being sarcastic about the Gervais writing.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I wouldn't be surprised if he'd scripted the Jude Law/Robert Downey, Jr. bit.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I'd love that kitty bookshelf. So would my cats. Maybe I'll get my carpenter friend to make me something like that.

I agree that Franco was boring and seemed stoned. The whole show was, with a few exceptions, dull as dishwater.

sumi, I feel ya - when I went to get my Virginia DL, I had my unexpired NJ driver's license, my PASSPORT, my social security card, and statements from my bank. Not good enough! It took me three months to get my damn DL.

Book sculptures:

Using knives, tweezers and surgical tools, Brian Dettmer carves one page at a time. Nothing inside the out-of-date encyclopedias, medical journals, illustration books, or dictionaries is relocated or implanted, only removed.

Dettmer manipulates the pages and spines to form the shape of his sculptures. He also folds, bends, rolls, and stacks multiple books to create completely original sculptural forms.

They make me cringe and marvel at the same time.
