Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

2.17pm: Gaddafi is talking at long last. He starts off in bizarre fashion, accusing protesters of drinking pills that make them commit "animal acts". He says the protesters have been brainwashed by Osama bin Laden, whose people have been giving protesters these pills.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Fleece-lined tights: there's a wide range of prices. I feel tempted to buy, but then I remember--CA. Southern CA. But it's chilly today, I swear it. You have no idea, guys. No idea.

Sparky, those people deserve to have the law laid down for them. Maybe msbelle can give you some tips on listing their toys for ebay.

Last week or so I read a Jezebel story about a mother who listed her sons' beyblades or something on ebay because they'd trashed the bathtub playing with them, and she wanted to recoup repair costs. She also included a picture of them crying, and then 4chan went to town on her and illegally jacked up the auction price, and I think they posted her private details.

Whatever. I think selling your kids toys, the specific ones they messed up with, sounds like a great object lesson. The picture thing is mean, but not beyond the pale.

Unlike the mother who duct-taped her kid and then showed pics to the police.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

A government shutdown is looking more likely:

Government Funding Talks Dissolving, Shutdown Now Floated As Negotiating Tactic

Behind the scenes, aides say, talks have taken on an even more ominous tone. According to sources familiar with the discussions, Republican negotiators have said that the only way they could build support within their own party for reducing the size of the cuts -- even in the stopgap measure -- would be to let the government actually shut down.

Such a scenario, a Democratic aide paraphrased a Republican counterpart as saying, would "be what it takes to convince the [party's] conservative members that they pulled out all the stops." A second Democratic Senate aide, briefed on the talks, confirmed this account.

...

Whether or not the line was said, a government shut down does appear to be creeping closer to fruition. The opening bid by House Republican negotiators was, in essence, to not negotiate at all.

When's the deadline? March 4th?

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I have an idea, Sparky. Sell the toys and use the money to buy a minifridge for nanny share parents.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Jessica, the evolutionary adaptation of adorability in infants never ceases to amaze me.

Now, if it remains constant in five year olds with attitude, it may be helpful to a certain daughter of mine.

Because books.

Cash, Sara saw the picture of Owen at the radio station, and now she wants you all to come visit. I think she's looking at Owen like an ally in world domination or something.

Yes, please, let's get all the powder kegs together and light a match.

Sara clearly thought, "Here's a kid who knows how to reach the masses ..."

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Can I make a confession? That Sherlock/Watson pic does absolutely nothing for me. No ping, no skew, no fanning of the face.
Right there with you. I mostly enjoy RDJ's performances, but I last found him viscerally attractive back around the time of Soapdish. And Jude Law dispelled his appeal so thoroughly with the nanny scandal that even my enjoyment of his slashy domestic photos with Ewan McGregor is impaired.
