Holy shit. They're forecasting snow for San Francisco this weekend for the first time since 1976.
This is how often it's snowed in SF:
December 1882
Feb. 5, 1887
Feb. 28, 1951
Jan. 21, 1962
Feb. 6, 1976
Bay Area snow photos from the Chron archives.
Pretty charming if you like vintage photography.
I'd say it's a sign of the apocalypse, but it's a year too early. Maybe it's like the PSAT of apocalyp... I don't know the plural of apocalypse.
Yeah. "Hell freezing over" pretty much is the same as "snowing in San Francisco."

Of course they are--my mother is coming to visit me, starting tonight through Sunday.

Heh. I doubt we'll get much more than an inch, if that much. And nobody owns a snow shovel.
However, we do live across from Kezar Stadium with its banked hillsides, so I'm sure if we get any snow at all we'll be sledding on cardboard by 10am.
For the last two mornings after I've dropped Matilda off, I've gone and run the steps at Kezar before I come home.
Because I'm getting fat and out of shape.
What's everybody's plan to be non-sedentary today? I need your inspiring tales of shoveling by bending at the knees, and laps at the pool.
