Aw, good for them.
Oh, and my friend Thayer reports back that the pizza is awesome!
I can has computer again!!!
I had a really shitty day. I woke up screaming at the cat for meowing really loudly and waking me up. I then went to the kitchen for my morning weigh-in, to find that I had gained 1 1/2 pounds from yesterday morning. I then went to the bathroom, only to find that my period, which had been in hiding since my surgery three months ago, decided today was a good day to reappear (thus explaining the screaming at the cat and weight gain!). The weather was shitty, I nearly slipped in the parking lot getting into my car, and then I get into work, only to find that my computer was dead. Yay.
It took them all day to get it back to me, and everything was fixed (the new guy said he couldn't recover anything from the old hard drive, but when he handed it off to the other IT guy before leaving for the day, he was able to find what he needed). The first really good thing to happen all day. Well, that and the fact that I was able to take advantage of the not-getting-anything-done-at-work thing by going out and getting my grocery shopping done on my lunch break.
I'm still all sorts of bloated and crampy, so I'll probably be having some greek yogurt for dinner.
I normally have no issues with my appetite. The last few days I have not been hungry. Or even if I am, by the time I put together something to eat, I have absolutely no desire to actually eat it. I mean a bite or two and I'm done. No clue if it is related to the anemia, but it certainly isn't helping.
Timelies all!
Am back from Boskone, which was fun. Saw Theodosia and DX Machina there. Dance practice tonight, which I must attend, as I am signed up for the gig we have on Saturday.
One of my officemate's students was in his office hours today because she's been having some trouble with the material. When she was clearly just giving a token effort on a problem, he told her that she had to work harder, and she replied that, since she's a woman in engineering, and there are so few women in engineering, she'll get hired easily even if she isn't as good as everyone else, so she doesn't have to put in all that effort.
The anthropomorphic representation of the Society of Women Engineers just got sick to its stomach and doesn't know why.
Stupid little girl!
Sigh.
