People who have seen Friday's Fringe--where do I know Mrs Mercher (sp?) from?
Not sure, but you could look here. [link] She was kind of delightful on Fringe.
'Get It Done'
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, nail polish, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

Didn't "slut" use to mean sloppy and lazy about housework, i.e. a slob? I think the sexual aspects of the word are relatively modern.
To Wordnik! [link] In 1913 it was an untidy woman.
Lee, she was in The Big C.
I have a hivemind word question. We are going to change my title at work, because I spend a part of my time dealing with clients and customers answering complaints and also writing stuff for out company's facebook and twitter feeds. My new title should have an element of liaision or something like that, while still somehow allowing for my HR functions. My suggestion was Communication Coordinator, but the execs felt it was too dull. The DH suggested Ombudsman, but that might be too technical. Any suggestions?
Talky Meat?
External Communications Liaison?
Director of Internal and External Communication?
My subway was super delayed, and I can't believe they announced that it was because a person got hit by a train! I believe that happened, but I'm surprised the announcement was that explicit.
Man, I've probably told this story before, but I got so screwed up one afternoon trying to head home from MIT in an oncoming storm, lost my phone, etc., and there were crazy delays. I get home and discover that someone committed suicide at Davis and it was someone that I knew. Ugh.
I think the MBTA are trying to be better about communication because I think that's the only thing they can control?
Oh, that's terrible. Ugh!
You'd never seen the dead parrot sketch????!!!!!!?
Pssst, Scrappy. She's younger than us. She was still in diapers when that sketch happened.

No. See, titles are a part of your ongoing career. So if you left this job and that was on your resume it wouldn't have much pull. This is why it was important for me to move form HR Admin to HR Analyst.

Not Ombudsman either. That's a very specific role, which mostly has to do with being the liaison with the general public.
What's your current title? Does it have Manager or Director in it?

Please -- we have the internet now. My coworker who practically fell on the floor laughing just thinking about it is well younger than me.
