Thomas Keller wants to have a word with him. In the alley. With fish knives.

Keller is quoted extensively in that article, since he was Achatz's mentor (he was sous chef at the French Laundry when he was 25). Achatz even named one of his sons Keller.

Now tagless for your comfort.

I have applied sugar cookies to the situation. Shocking how a 7" diameter cookie will make things seem better.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I should totally try Cash's cookie therapy. I am really trying to force a good mood and motivation, but damn if it is working.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

For those keeping track of Bay Area weather patterns - it just started pouring here. Just all of a sudden got dark and preciptating. I think it's just rain and not hail, though. Nothing is bouncing.

Deciding to stay inside was the right call.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Trudy: Found the x-rays of my feet, pre- and post-op! Frankenstein feet.

Zenkitty: Eeeep! I think (hope!) you have a lot more hardware than I'll end up with. They're breaking and re-shaping my first metatarsals (looks like they did the same to you) and scraping out a bunch of bone spurrs. My fourth toes are bent inward and will be straightened -- not sure what exactly that entails.

Oooh, Trudy, I hope that works out for you! My mom is having foot surgery in the next few months (won't be scheduled until her next doctor's appointment in March) for her hammertoe, arthritis, and something else going on in her toes.

IcompletelyON, was it here or in Bitches that we were speaking recently about mashed cauliflower as opposed to mashed potatoes? Because the Tribune has an article and recipe on the subject.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Achatz even named one of his sons Keller.

What I meant to say was that he wanted to present his namesake with a special commemorative fish knife.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Trudy: The hardware was actually not a big deal. I had the screws on the left foot removed after a couple years because they were bothering me, but the pins in the right foot, I've never even felt. And they don't set off alarms!

Are you having both feet done at once? I didn't, so I could still be somewhat ambulatory, but if I'd had anyone to help me out, doing them both at once and getting it over with would have been better.
