I have supposedly good health care coverage. Though I have a $3k deductible for the family plus another $1.5k deductible for prescriptions. And I'm seeing a hematologist next week plus whatever treatment he prescribes.

I wish the folks in Washington had to spend 6 months on regular people insurance and maybe they would get a clue.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

All my HSA money is in a vacuum somewhere that I haven't tracked down. When I switched from the high-deduc to a regular plan, they kept sending me new debit cards. So last year, I got them switched up at some point (they look exactly the same) and I only realized when they sent me a statement in December that all my expenses that year had come out of the HSA - that rolls over - and not the FSA, which didn't. So I had like three weeks to blow $800 or lose it entirely. I got new glasses and ordered a shit ton of stuff I don't really need from drugstore.com.

But I still haven't figured out what card of the three is right. And when I tried to send in a receipt manually it got denied. So all my medical expenses this year (mostly dental) I've just paid and not been reimbursed for. Maybe that's my next onerous task, figuring out what the hell is going on.

I probably wouldn't have freaked so much if he wasn't so punctual about getting home at 3:05 each day. Plus he missed karate - another not normal thing. I kept myself calm for a while with "he will be home by 4:30 for karate. Don't worry until after 4:30".

The police were still in the parking lot when KCD and CJ got home. I believe some words were spoken to CJ.

He is trying to suck up now - he offered to make dinner.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Oy. I just saw a commercial for a new Kraft mac and cheese that's oven-baked that pretty much says to make this stuff for your kids because kids don't like the things you cook.

information libertarian

I am so not ready to have teenagers. I guess I have six more years to steel myself.

Okay, I need guts advice - spoilerfonting for anyone who doesn't want to hear it. I threw up Saturday night, had some mild diarrhea on Monday morning, and finally started eating again Monday night because I was HUNGRY. Every time I eat I have burbles and gurgles for hours, and after I ate some swedish fish today I have been in gas agony (since noon) and had more diarrhea. What, if anything, can I do to make myself able to handle 35 high school students for 2 hours tomorrow morning, ideally with neither crippling pain nor bathroom runs? I so rarely have tummy issues I don't know what to do. I have simethicone, which seems to have done nothing, and tums, and I think some immodium. Can I pre-treat with anything to be sure I'll be okay, or is just not eating anything my best bet?

msbelle, I may join you but that would mean I'd have to leave my room and I like it in here right now.

Why is it now that the panic is over, I want my anxiety meds? Those are in the other room also.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I would definitely take immodium, flea. And what about the banana/rice/apples/toast diet?

Sheesh, kids!

My last-minute-not-my-emergency thankfully only resulted in staying an extra half an hour. And I get the added glee of knowing they'll be up most of the night stuffing things into envelopes and putting together the packages (over 75 of 'em) because this shit has to be down in DC by deadline tomorrow. My part was supposed to be done...lessee...last Thursday? And we only got the documents to copy this morning. And after we copied all of them, they discovered one of the documents was out of order. And only told me at 4:15. DIdn't get the revised stuff to me until 4:30. REALLY?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Immodium, flea. I pre-treat all the time when my stomach has been unruly.

Thank dog, Suzi. He better suck up for a while.

I grocery shopped. I committed vegetables. This can't end well. But meat is marinating, so there will be home cooked dinner at some point. I should have just had the bread and cheese, seriously.
