This is so nice. Having everyone together for my birthday. Of course, you could smash in all my toes with a hammer and it will still be the bestest Buffy Birthday Bash in a big long while.

BUT I have a $10 or $15 certificate for DSW, so I feel like I should check there first. But is there really going to be a better deal than those Clarks? And they say they only have one pair left in my size.

for $15, I say get the Clark's. You can go to DSW this week, and if you finds something, return them.

Anybody else watch Jeopardy with Watson? I found its ability to understand some of those questions pretty stunning.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Ah, so that's what my aunt and cousin were on about this morning. Apparently, she's rooting for Watson over Ken.

Because books.

I did, Gud. It took a while for the two contestants to even make it on the board. It was really pretty amazing.

Yeah, I realized that's what made sense, and ordered them. Yay boots!

Yeah, it wasn't looking good for humanity at first.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I watched the Watson Jeopardy too. At first Watson was just stunning, it seemed like it actually understood the question, but in the second round it made a few mistakes that showed it really didn't.

Part of the problem, of course, was that Watson can't hear, so he doesn't know what the other contestants have already said - leading at least once to it repeating an incorrect answer.

I'm rooting for Ken.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Do those boots have elastic on the back? If so, I might order them too!

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Trudy, are you having the same foot surgery I had, i.e., bones broken and realigned to make the feet foot-shaped?

I think mine is less extensive than yours. They're only doing two toes on each foot.

Trudy, what do they do if there's no laxative phase to the colonoscopy? Because the reason I've hesitated to have one is that I probably am not going to be able to swallow the foul-tasting stuff they give you to drink in large quantities. I'm a supertaster with a very strong gag reflex, making that a very likely literal inability to swallow much of it.

Beats me, my scope was in my bladder. I always figure that must be rougher than a colonoscopy as it is a liquids-only orfice.

Wikipedia seems to think that supertasting involves primarily bitterness. If so, you're in luck. The barium isn't so much a spinach milkshake as a milkshake made of the fork you ate (or in your case didn't eat) the spinach with.
