That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

I went to high school with (and knew pretty well) musicians Tift Merritt

Cool! I really like her, despite that I've missed seeing her every time she's come to town since we moved here (at least three times so far).

I don't think I went to HS with anyone famous, though my college's list of alums includes Joss! He was a few years before my time.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Um.

Not classmates, but. Also, we've had no illustrious architects, scientists, or business grads, so it all balances out.

Compassionately intolerant

Gosh, I wouldn't know how to find out which alums from my high school who are famous. On the other hand, Maynard Ferguson and Dave Brubeck went to my university.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

though my college's list of alums includes Joss!

Raise you a Shat!

And a Colin. And a John Rogers. Well, okay, you can keep the Shat. My only interactions with him were of the asshatish type. Him, uh, not me.

Man, this NPR jam is excellent. Sing it, Boyz II Men.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Raise you a Shat!

When I see the word "shat", the past tense of "shit" comes to mind....

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

One day, my sister will be on the list of illustruious grads from my HS.

information libertarian

Shatner? Surely not a contemporary of ita's, right?

Kate, I've only seen Tift play once, but it was good. My previous memory of her was when she was 14 and singing in My Fair Lady, so it was a bit of an adjustment. And I know a woman who went to your college and was in film classes with Joss! She wasn't very impressed with him, as I recall.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Raise you a Shat!

And Arcade Fire, or at least some of them.

My HS had one of the Violent Femmes and Speech from Arrested Development. That's all I can think of.

flea, I'll have to make it out to see her sometime. I like her latest album a lot.

And I know a woman who went to your college and was in film classes with Joss! She wasn't very impressed with him, as I recall.

Aw, well, I'd hate to be judged by what I was like as a college student. He did come back to campus a couple of times while I was there, which was pretty thrilling for me.

My HS had David Lee Roth and Rodney King
