Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I used to have a big crush on Babyface, and then I was on a flight with him...I didn't know who it was, but someone came down the aisle exclaiming "He looked right at my baby!" so I had to wander aimlessly up to first class to look and see.

Yeah, it was him, and he looked cute and shit, but I had the Motts from that fanstruck lady, and my crush disappeared.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Babyface went to my high school!

Cool!

I never had a crush on Babyface, really, but "Whip Appeal" still gives me The Feelings.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

What's The Motts?

The only famous people who went to my high school are Brian and Brady Blade (Brian, I think was the one my husband was in school with), Kenny Wayne Sheppard (I went to school with him), and Cedric Glover, the 1st African-American mayor of Shreveport.

There are probably more in other fields, just not that I know of.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I don't know if anybody from my high school became famous.

JZ went to high school with Margaret Cho, Aisha Tyler (who I totally didn't realize was Ross's Black Girlfriend on Friends. She's so awesome on Archer), and Sam Rockwell. EM went to high school with Elizabeth Pena (a good friend), Ving Rhames (dance program, of all things) and Suzanne Vega. Both performing arts high schools.

I went to high school with Nadine Sutherland, who you've never heard of, and Vauna Hyatt, ditto, but Jamaicans have. In England I was a year behind Helena Bonham Carter, and a year ahead of Sarah Patterson (who didn't do much after her Neil Jordan debut).

What's The Motts?

Watch from the hall syndrome.

I did! She also hosted a dating show on late night called The Fifth Wheel.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Why's it called The Motts?

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

My high school produced Ricky Stuart, former halfback and coach for the Kangaroos, the Australian rugby league team; and George Gregan, former captain of the Wallabies, the Australian rugby union team; and Alex Jesaulenko, Aussie Rules hall-of-famer. Aside from sporting lights, I suspect my dad might be its most famous alumnus.

Punishingly Intricate

Joe Biden's sister and the girl who plays April on Parks & Rec went to my high school. Many years apart, obvs, and neither when I was there. Also a girl, Val Whiting, who played basketball in one of the first, if not the first, seasons of the WNBA. She was a freshman when I was a senior.

And, looking at Wikipedia, the wife of Ed Rendell, gov of PA.

And a couple of other notable basketball players. We had a good basketball program.
