Congratulations to the class of 1999. You all proved more or less adequate.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

YAY PROMOTED (if shaggy-headed) MEARA!!

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

Erin, my shoes are as yours. I have to go to the local community center to have a good soak, and that involved disgusting quantities of chemicals. There was some anger that i couldn't afford to expant my bathroom enough for a soaker tub. or afford a soaker tub.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Isn't there a penalty of some sort for having interrupted insurance? Or does that only matter if you have a pre-existing condition of some sort?

Congrats, meara!

Man, I cannot compose this email for shit.

Art Crawl!!!

Woo hoo for the promotion!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yay meara!

I would LOOOOOOVE to have a big soaker tub, and it was one of the few things that I did not like about my house I bought--no big tub, and no room to expand and get one! Sad.

I believe there is (in re: preexisting conditions) but it's over a certain amount of time (>60 days? >90?). So if you're only going to be without for a few weeks, it's no big. And since you CAN retroactive Cobra, it's often worth going without for a month or so, before deciding if you'll need it to stop the clock, or to cover actual health issues.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Woohoo for promotion!!

All this tub talk reminds me that my mom is going to be having foot surgery this spring. If she can get it scheduled for early April, I'm going out to take care of her for a week. I'll be able to use her whirlpool while I'm out there--yay!! I've been unable to comfortably get out of a tub, but I should be able to handle it by then, especially a deeper whirlpool one.

Yay meara! I'm glad they came through for you.

And it's possible I still have coverage through the end of month, I suppose. But I won't do retroactive COBRA unless I have to, since it's expensive.

I am cranky that I'm losing my easy-to-deal-with HMO (I'm in Kaiser) and will have to go to Blue Cross under the new contract position. Which means finding a new PCP and all that. BAH.

I should call my boss today to find out how the contracting process is going.

In other news, I have started bread: apple-walnut bread out of the Bernard Clayton book of breads. And laundry.

I should walk the dog, but it's a big grey and dreary outside.

Man, unemployment makes me even less productive than usual, which is saying a lot. Bah.

Oh, that's really annoying!
