Gavin, ask yourself this question. What are you more afraid of, a giant murderous demon or me?

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Thanks, Kathy! Bookmarking. I'm sort of lost as to where I can send copies.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I want to make a website that is just sort of, "Here's some good shit that happened today."

That is an excellent idea.

Like Peter Beagle?

I need one of those Kirkus/Publisher's Weekly sort of reviews.

Allyson, the center is right next door to my classroom, so I'll stop by there if someone is staffing it on Saturday after class and see what they might be interested in. I know that you wouldn't be able to fly out to Chicago for a promotional tour (but if you did, I'd love to have you over!!), but maybe something else would let you connect with librarians.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I need one of those Kirkus/Publisher's Weekly sort of reviews.

I'd have his review tattooed on me by now. But I can see as you need more.

Kristen keeps telling me it'll be a sleeper.

I really am very proud of it. I'm puzzled as to how to promote it.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Homemade Hobbit Feet for Hallowe'en

This will be useful for when I create my costume of a Man with Hobbit Feet....

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I'm excellent at doing this sort of thing for other people, but not for myself.

This is why I suck at marketing my business.

I'm sure you've thought about marketing Sam through zoos, natural history museums and the bat conservation people. Places like Bat World [link] which has won awards for developing ways to rehab bats, have pretty pathetic offerings for kids. You could offer a kids' section on bats for websites, featuring Sam, and work on making Sam a spokesbat for bat conservation.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

I really am very proud of it. I'm puzzled as to how to promote it.

Your editors are working on it.

Do you have, anywhere, a comprehensive list of who reviewed Vampire People? Big places, small places, print, blogs, LJ posts, doesn't matter. Anyone who liked your voice enough to say so out in public. If you do have such a list, ping us. You really don't have to do all the promotional heavy lifting yourself.

(Well, honestly, probably a good bit of the heavy lifting. But definitely not all of it, nuh uh and nope. There was a meeting. There are plans.)

eta: And, Ginger, we're already on it. Put together a contact list already, and drafting letters of inquiry with promo packets this week or next.
