"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Unbelievable, they fit 17 people together at the Haight Street Pork Store. Waitress said it was a record.

Here's Matilda, JZ, the movie star and the poker player.

In this picture you can see Zmayhemi, one of the best known drag queens in San Francisco (Peaches Christ), the producer of (500) Days of Summer, a World Series of Poker Champion (the photographer also having a bracelet), and the screenwriter who created (and later directed) the Chucky horror movies.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Feel better, sickies!!

I went to Target, where I spent a ridiculous amount of time, mostly because I looked at the time right as a bus was supposed to be arriving, so then I had 40 minutes to kill. But the only stupid things I bought were out of the dollar section, so I'm feeling pretty good -- some fun size Twix and two little herb pots. It will be a miracle if they actually grow anything, but if not, I'm only out $2.

What kind of herbs, Jesse?

Emmett's lemon tree is thriving on the back porch.

As an addendum to the breakfast post, I'll note that the two waitresses who busted their asses to fit us together and serve us all, got a nice high roller tip.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I mowed my lawn. I didn't edge or weed or sweep up, but the grass is shorter. Should embarrass my neighbors less, I hope. And the birds have more to eat. I'll work on getting those other things done next time it doesn't rain for a couple of days.

information libertarian

I'm watching the grammy telecast (the not-very-famous awards) online and it is surprisingly entertaining, especially now that Kathy Griffin has left the stage.

Basil and parsley. Do they really need to be in sun? I'll have to figure out how to keep the cat from eating them, if they do grow.

IME, basil really likes sun, parsley doesn't care so much. But I have killed many plants of both species under all kinds of conditions, so maybe my experience isn't the best to go by.

Between those liquid crystal glasses and the oil-filled lenses for low-cost glasses, I am impressed with sci-fi-ness of 21st century eyewear.

So I guess I'll wait until it's warmer, anyway -- I'm sure it's too cold by the windows, and non-sunny anywhere else.
