I was once in a coffee house with a political blogger (the type that appears on the News Hour). He knew I was a good proofer and asked me if I would check his post before he put it up. I asked him what I always ask friends in this situation, that is, "Do you really want me to check it? Because I will find something." Oh, yes. I made it about halfway before he made it clear he'd rather post it as is. I don't get that.

I'm getting very bummed about the election. I keep hoping the American people are going to surprise me, but I'm very afraid that the stupid people are going to go to the polls and not the intelligent people who are pissed that things aren't changing as fast as they want them to and are going to "punish" the people they voted for by letting them get voted out. Yeah, that's going to help.

I've unsubscribed from all my political blogs. I'm going to vote next week, but beyond that I'm going to try to make my life in 2011 as politics-free as possible. I'm just tired of being outraged all the time.

The country is going all "Things fall apart; the center cannot hold" on us. Stupidity (or, stupidity in the service of the powerful) is winning.

I am about to go to Kitten Down A Well news alert status. KDAW = no news for me unless it's about adorable kittens (or puppies or bats) who are rescued unharmed from something. The rest of the news is overwhelmingly depressing.

ok, mac's costume is done. now need to go get my foam board. I can't do my make-up until after I get him from school and he plays with his friend, so I guess I'll have from 4-5 to get ready. I should probably get partially dressed now.
