This is not funny. This... this is a morality tale about the evils of sake.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

The San Francisco-area Buffistas, in particular, may want to catch the last segment of 60 Minutes.

OOH, thanks for the heads up. That sounds amazing.

Nicole - I am within driving distance. It turned out pretty good if I say so myself. I'm wishing I had gotten peppers with a bit more kick. I think the ones I got on the high end of medium scared me but mild just ain't kicky enough.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I just grated some beets for a dip I'm making for a thing on Tuesday. But I'm out tomorrow after work, so I figured I'd better get started. Luckily, I remembered to wear gloves!

Nicole, what Seattle restaurants were you contemplating? Several of us could give suggestions!

I am having a muuuuch better time at this conference than I did last year. I think I have less energy/stamina, but I've been better at pacing myself an sitting things out watching rather than doing.

....and the cute girl hooking up with me didn't hurt either. (five years younger, does that count as cradle?)

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

OMG gnocchi! I am having gnocchi at my childhood favorite restaurant tomorrow night and I cannot wait!

What does it say about me that I'm contemplating driving an extra hour tomorrow so that I can go back to the Sephora?

I'm getting the pig!

meara, I've basically been sticking to Yelp reviews and photos for anything near our hotel (Hotel Monaco). So far I've bookmarked Petra Mediterranean Bistro, Pike Place Chowder, Big Al's Brewing (for DH) and Molly Moon's (for me).

Not as much research yet on Vancouver stuff but need to get busy on that soon.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Kat's dinner sounds like it more than makes up for cookie fail!

The eyeliner is pretty, though spectacularly out of my good colors range, but the polish is gawjuss. And yes, like I need more blues.

Clinque's Black Honey is my staple lipstuff.

Ooh, relevant to the scents discussion the other day, the soap I unwrapped this week is from Mad Hatter Soaps on Etsy. It's called Down the Rabbit Hole, and smells like dark chocolate and black pepper. So nom. I could just go shower for an hour or two.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

The San Francisco-area Buffistas, in particular, may want to catch the last segment of 60 Minutes. It shows part of the newly digitized film taken on a trolley on Market Street. It was thought to have been filmed in 1905, but the guy who runs the silent theater in Niles did a ton of research and found it was filmed one week before the 1906 earthquake and put on a train the night before. The filmmakers' studio was destroyed by the quake, as were most buildings in the film, so it becomes an eerie vision of a world about to die.

The historian that figured this out -- one of my neighbors --- and we are to celebrate right about now
