We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Yeah, I didn't go into the shelter looking for a black cat. I was looking for personality, and Amarna definitely had that. And, she didn't even start meowing until I got her in the carrier to bring her home, so I didn't even guess that we'd be having minutes-long conversations in meow-ese, or that she would crack me up when she gets bossy and territorial with her meowing. She loves to jump on top of me, walk around my stomach while kneading, and meow at the top of her lungs until she gets ready to lay down on my chest for some petting and short snooze.

Ann, that's a ferret.

shelters are indeed overflowing with black kitties, it's super sad.

Something like 95% of black cats are never adopted. Yet our two (Teddy and Coco) -- the friendliest toward their humans that you could imagine. Teddy would sleep on my pillow at night, right next to my head. And it takes me 10 minutes longer these days to get dressed because Coco keeps rubbing up against me, demanding petting.

In other news, Arthur and Victor are at the vet today for neutering. They were Not Pleased with missing breakfast.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

A Kitten in Slow Motion

PS Film Studio made a joyous slow motion video of a kitten shot with a Phantom HD camera.

Pretty cool....

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Whoa, the baseball coach for Wake Forest is donating a kidney to one of his players. That's a serious commitment to player development.

A Kitten in Slow Motion

Blowing the milk bubble out of its nose was the best part.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

My best kitty was a black cat, and he was the snuggliest, lovingest cat ever. My mother has had THREE black cats, and they have all been lovely, too. Actually, more people in my life seem to have black cats than otherwise, as my BFF also has a black cat.

Punishingly Intricate

I had an awesome black cat with extra toes. He was named Stinky. I have a tattoo of him sitting on the moon on my hip .

"already on the kiss-cam with Karl Marx"-

We love black cats. I have one named after Tina Turner. If she'd been male, she'd have been Omar, though.

Because books.

Our first cat, Puck, was a black longhair.

Amazing that people are still ... superstitious? about black cats. Really? That's sort of ridiculous.
