I look more rad than Lutheranism

And at least that Marie Claire thing is just a blog, not a published-on-paper article. I mean, about the editing, not the sentiments.

I tend to think that blogs that want to be taken seriously, especially if they're linked with/part of a publication, like this one, ought to be edited and held to the same editorial standards as the rest of the publication.

Of course, I don't read Marie Claire (print or online), so maybe that IS indicative of their editorial standards.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I tend to think that blogs that want to be taken seriously, especially if they're linked with/part of a publication, like this one, ought to be edited and held to the same editorial standards as the rest of the publication.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Er, I mean, unfortunately, the only rule about blogging for a print publication is volume volume volume. Most magazines don't even have full-time fact checkers or copy editors for their print editions anymore, and the thing that brings in money from the blogs is page hits, so as long as you post a LOT, who gives a fuck if it's spell-checked?

Quality writing? Wha?

(What, me, bitter about DH's industry unceremoniously flushing itself down the toilet over the past ten years? Nah...)

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Old Skool Nyquil still exists behind the counter.

MY pharmacy never has it, but supposably there is such a thing.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

I had the best morning y'all! Got up at 5 something and rode bikes to a diner in the hood. They weren't open but let me and hubs in because they knew us from when we used to go. Rode back home and snuggled with Jon for an hour. Now I'm on the bus and will make it to work early!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

OMG, I need to dry out. After walking through the muggy/rainy in too many clothes (jacket for meeting + light coat), I swear to god the shuttle driver had the heat on, although he denied it. Finally some air came on half-way through the trip, which of course made me start sneezing because I was dripping with sweat at that point. @@

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Ugh Allyson, sounds like your cold is even worse than mine. I don't have any fever, but my head and chest are full of ick. As far as medications go, I am a new fan of Mucinex for its clever mix of decongestant, so I can breathe, and expectorant, so I don't develop a killer sinus headache.

BTW I dreamed of you and Sam last night, Allyson.

And if that's the same blogger, she isn't just a blithering idiot. She's an asshole.

information libertarian

I hate the weather we are having. It is 80 degrees and incredibly humid. It's like we've been living on the outskirts of a hurricane for 3 days.

Well, I know that they *aren't*; I'm not a total idiot. I just think that they *should* be edited.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

the thing that brings in money from the blogs is page hits

Well, they certainly got a lot of those, so mission partially accomplished. Although 2/3 of the comments I read were people cancelling their print subscriptions, so you takes your chances.
