Jayne: What're you gonna tell the others? Mal: About what? Jayne: About why I'm dead. Mal: Hadn't thought about it. Jayne: Make something up. Don't tell 'em what I did.

Compassionately intolerant

I've done that.

All my sheets match and can be mixed with each other.

My flannel duvet cover is one from Pottery Barn that has a giant poppy pattern in cream, salmon, burgundy and two colors of green. Every sheet blends with those colors. My summer duvet cover is the same burgundy color in cotton. The bedskirt is a velvet in one of the green colors. Mixy-mixy.

I'm ocd that way.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

This winter is so weird! Now it's crazy raining, thunder and lightening, the whole nine.

Of course I'm now going to wash my sheets tomorrow. I do them.... erratically.

Nawwwwh. They couldn't have lasted for 20 years, could they?

I have some sheets that are at least 40. My family has a saving problem.

Hmph, the sardine-can crowd at Olive garden thwarted my quest to try that new pear-gorgonzola ravioli twice today. Oh well, maybe tomorrow night when everyone is theoretically home or in sports bars.

I still have the sheets that I took with me to university...ahem, 24 years ago. They're worse for the wear, but mostly because I used to do everything on my bed...eat, paint, build theatre maquettes. And they came out of an old lady's trunk, so I think they are from the 1960's. I also have some white sheets I found about 10 years ago @ Value Village that look like they were 60s-70s vintage. They are great sheets...really thick cotton. Unfortunately they are a little greyer now than they were. That's the downfall of not changing white sheets frequently.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I'd love to find a print with handwriting on cream or ivory for the cases.

Bev, I am taunty. I still want the whole set. Or my pillowcases to arrive. Gimme.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I still have at least some of the towels I got freshman year of college, 29 years ago.

(ops, bad math--it was 27 years ago)

Punishingly Intricate

We have the best flannel sheets now--super soft and warm but not too warm. Also, we snuggle in our sleep but not all night!

FB just made me cry. I know my daughter is crossing the stage in May. I have been working on plans for the trip. No surprise, right? But I got a FB invitation from her to the commencement ceremony and instant tears.

I need to be less erratic regarding sheet washing. Some times they are washed every other week sometimes not quite so regularly.

My pool towel is one I got back when I was maybe 10, so that makes it over 25 years old. I liked my brother's better, but somehow left it in South Africa.

My favorite sheets at my family's house were the old ones, worn to silkiness, probably from their marriage. That's why I love the beech: it achieves that level of silky out of the package.

I have my grandmother's dishtowels. They are linen and embroidered by her and falling apart in places. But I have my grandmother's dishtowels.
