I, for one, wasn't looking forward to starting my day with a slaughter. Which, really, just goes to show how much I've grown

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Why would someone back into a parking space at a grocery store? Wouldn't that make it much more difficult to get the grocery bags into the trunk?

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

The best thing about my TJs is the clerk who looks kinda like Jensen Ackles. More of that, please.

I finally have a compelling reason to move. Next door to a different TJ's.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

After tomorrow, I will be at H, with no WFH possible. I should come up with a schedule.

As for TJ's, my thing is the frozen tamales. And the lemon-ginger-echinacea juice. Oh, and the tortellini and the sausages. And occasionally the spicy California rolls. I don't buy cheese there unless I'm going to use it right away: there's something wrong with their wrapping and it often goes moldy almost immediately.

But I totally get my Kashi Go Lean and shredded wheat there.

They used to have a peanut mix I loved: half honey-roasted peanuts, half wasabi peas. So awesome.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Well, there's your explanation for the crowd.

On parking: I read a study years ago about people's parking habits in big lots, and it came out, obviously, that driving around and around for a good spot ended up in more time and more stress then just parking wherever. Which is totally obvious when you hear it, and yet?

It's hard to be non-competitive about this stuff, but whenever I think about that study I just head right on to the far end of the lot, park and feel way more relaxed about the whole deal.

Two excellent questions!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Wouldn't that make it much more difficult to get the grocery bags into the trunk?

I don't put the grocery bags in the trunk.

Okay, Tim Roth's character in Lie to Me this week? Complete bastardy. And very sweet.

Mmm, mine was out of the cheese and green chili ones last time I shopped. I really wanted some. Oh well. Another trip...

Neither do I. Unless I go grocery shopping with P and she drives. Then when we get back here, I quickly pop my trunk and transfer all my bags there so she can leave.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

My TJ's is tiny, with no kids, and pretty reasonable behavior. And a hot clerk. Sorry.

I have so many TJs (at least 3) that I don't remember what any of the clerks look like. And I've only noticed really cute kids.
