Airlines brace for monster snow storm
With a snow storm of historic proportions expected in Chicago, Illinois, and large sections of the country's midsection, some airlines are already allowing passengers to change plans.
The storm will impact about three-quarters of the United States, from New England all the way to New Mexico, said CNN meteorologist Rob Marciano. Travelers should brace for a "three, three-and-a-half day event," he warned.
"Travel will likely be difficult to impossible in many areas," the National Weather Service said. Snowfall, primarily on Tuesday, could be over 12 inches in parts of Missouri and Illinois.

I'm so sorry, Amyth.
Airlines brace for monster snow storm
I first read this headlines with Aliens in place of Airlines.
I am sad about the upcoming new foot of snow. Almost worse was the offhanded mention in a news article that January was the sixth-snowiest month ever here. The fifth-snowiest was MARCH of some year I forget. We are not even close to done with winter.

Now I'm picturing various alien spaceships outfitted with snowplows and road salt dispensers.
I just told my boss that if the weather's as bad as they're predicting for Wednesday that I would not be coming in to work at all. She wasn't too thrilled, but understood. She and the rest of the team all have the option of working from home, but I don't, so I'm just going to take a PTO day.
I am going to try and go for a swim at 6:00 am tomorrow, and then work from 8-4, then getting home before it gets too bad out there. Tonight is running all the errands on the way home night, including getting my hair cut and stopping by Walgreens for supplies, including the standard milk and eggs.
So sorry, amyth.
And all you midwesterners and easterners: stay warm and dry and off the roads!
We're going to get wintery mixed here in NYC.
DJ, that pencil art is awesome.
Muscle memory is going to get you, hard. I didn't realize how many things had become routine in caring for Chloe until I didn't have to do them anymore.
Yeah, this is going to take a while. Especially since Lulu's routine was kind of intense there towards the end, with the diapers and the multiple medications and whatnot. But bonus: I hadn't cut tail holes in most of the diapers I had recently bought, and they are just the right size for C&J's baby, because she is a GIANT. So whether they wanted them or not, they just got a motherlode of free Huggies. The picture of the baby on the box is pushing a Fisher Price lawnmower, whereas their baby is five months old, and has mastered rolling from one end of a blanket to the other, and sitting up. She's already outgrown her one-year car seat.
I don't even live in a place that's snowing anymore, and I'm having snow trauma. This winter needs to END.
