Tracy: Well-- That call -- That call means you just murdered me. Mal: No, son. You murdered yourself. I just carried the bullet a while.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I name-dropped Colin the other day at work. I was feeling shamefully dirty, but the guy I did it to just waved at me in the hallway. He's never waved at me before. Am I a cool kid now? Am I riding the Ferg's coattails? Fuck him.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

When I was in first grade, I had three girlfriends at the same time. Or at least in my mind I did.

It's all been downhill since then....

Because books.

That house is incredible, DJ. So spare and clean.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Hey, Hec, have you been to Mission: Comics and Art? Wait, I think I took you there. The owner reminds me of you. He has a similar look and voice; it was throwing me tonight.

Middle aged disshevled is a look?

I do remember that store. It's cool.

I've heard a rumor that Comic Relief in Berkeley might be in bad financial shape. (Literally, overhead two guys talking at Booksmith in the Haight. So I can't source that rumor, but one of them sounded like he had inside knowledge.)

That would be a huge blow as it's one of the best comic shops in the country.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

ita's post confused me for a second, because I keep thinking this is Saturday, not Friday, since it's not a work day for me.

Now that I remember that it is Friday, what are people doing this weekend?

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

It's hard to know what to say about Chi-fil-A. There's no question the company is overtly Christian, but Truett Cathy was an old-school "even as ye have done to the least of these" Christian. It's one of the best corporate citizens around. It's funded $25 million plus in scholarships, mostly to its young employees, plus millions for homes for foster children. It really will supply food to most non-profit organizations that ask.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

what are people doing this weekend?

Taking Emmett to Krav on Saturday and Sunday. Then I've got to finish up writing assignments on Jack Kirby, my Bubblegum entry into the Pop Encyclopedia and a piece on underground filmmaker Kenneth Anger.

"In the equation E = mc⬧, c⬧ is a pretty big honking number." - Scola

I was going to lounge around doing nothing, but since I'm on my third straight day of doing that already, I may have to actually do something. Huh. I wonder what?

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

That house is incredible, DJ. So spare and clean.

And really not terribly expensive $260,000. The neighborhood is also really nice, near a park and the lake and about 15 min from the city.

Still don't have that much, and still not sure about buying, but it's a nice little fantasy.

This weekend: HH this afternoon, then maybe a late dinner with friends. Saturday Jon is working at a different bar, and unless I really want to see the bands playing, I think I'll rent some movies and have a me/spa night. There is no football on Sunday so I have no freaking clue what I'll do with myself. Maybe I'll go do this to satisfy the craving [link]

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I have tentative plans to see Colin. I don't know if I'm going to tell him I'm using him to get ahead socially at the office.

But, seriously, if someone's going to cite a Eureka episode by season to make a point about a staff meeting, how can I keep my dorky mouth shut? I couldn't have told you what season that episode was in.
