Jesus Christ. The local newscasters just interrupted the woman giving the business report from NY to inform her that all the guys in the newsroom find her very attractive and pay extra attention to the business report. What the everloving fuck?
I would have said something like "You seem to think that it's a compliment, so I suppose I should thank you for the sentiment. However, I'll give you some free advice to avoid future lawsuits -- it's not a compliment"
Howdy! One of the kids in class the other day said "Bee-tee-double-u" - which, I'll point out, actually takes LONGER than saying "by the way".
Yes, I pointed that out to an acquaintance, and she now apparently says "bee tee dubs" @@
So it's more a thing that I need to do at *some* point, then something that I really have to do today, encouragement or no. Like - shudder - cleaning.
Well, you missed onerous task day, which had a specific time where people were encouraged to do their crap.
Go, Kathy, with your swimmin' self!
I'm willing to extend a bonus round to Onerous Task Day just to get Emily's ass in gear.
I didn't have it nearly as bad as Maria in the snowstorm.
I left work about 2:30 (2 hours early), met Hubs near Rosslyn, and we drove home. Bumper to bumper on 66 just about the whole way. Once the snow started, it got very bad very fast. Got home about 4:45, which meant the commute took about an hour longer than normal.
Government opened 2 hours late today, which Hubs took as permission to sleep in 2 extra hours. So I did 80 percent of the shoveling out. (Well, I only shoveled the driveway, not the sidewalk. But, still.) My back barely made it, but I think I did something to my arm/elbow. The ramp onto 66 wasn't plowed, and we only had 2 lanes on 66 until about Fair Oaks/Route 50.
Ah. So it's more a thing that I need to do at *some* point, then something that I really have to do today, encouragement or no. Like - shudder - cleaning.
I think the idea was to actually attack the stuff you tend to put off. With the encouragment, fellow-feeling, etc.
I'm pretty sure people can get individual gold stars at other times as well.
Go, Kathy, with your swimmin' self!
See, like that!
We can still encourage you, Em. I'm pretty sure that's not against the rules.
I think I did something to my arm/elbow
Watch that, since I've had epicondylitis (tennis elbow) since November when I raked some leaves. It's gotten so bad that very simple things, like brushing my hair and cutting my own meat, not to mention picking up my daughter, are extremely painful.
I entered a stack of receipts, clearing a small part of my desk!
