What lisah said. I drive my poor cars into the ground. 14 years old is young for a sentra, you HEAR THAT SENTRA? eta: I only have 104K, I think, on the car. Blew up my 88 (?89 I forget) at 213K or so, and that was JiffyLube's fault, they left the oilcap off and then I drove to DC in stop and go and fried the engine. Didn't die for another couple weeks, but when it did, it cracked the block.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I will say that no one should deprive themselves of the good time that is going through the car wash! So fun!!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Not even my car fetish family in Michigan washed their cars once a week. That's crazy people talk.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

Once a month at the touchless carwash at my gas station, taking advantage of the discount for filling the gas tank.

I used to wash it with the hand wand once every week or two weeks, but the price went up too much -- what I used to be able to do for $1.50 now costs $4.50 or more.

What ita said.

But you make a compelling counter-argument.

People go through car washes in their cars? What's that all about?

How do they clean the insides, then?

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

I wash my car only when it's dirty, which is more often now that I have bookshelves in my garage and no room for my car. My neighbor has a citrus tree that drops stuff on my car, and in the spring it gets all sticky. (Tree semen! Ew!)

I have made myself a margarita and eaten a tamale. I did have vegetables for lunch, though.

It's fun! Watch all the swirly water and soap and stuff through the windows.

How do they clean the insides, then?

The one near my parents, after you go through the wash part, you get out of the car to pay and some guys vacuum the inside of the car. The one near me just washes the outside of the car.

My house has no driveway, just street parking, and when the salt spreader comes by, pretty much the entire driver's side of my car gets crusted with salt. Yesterday, it was so bad that I couldn't really see through the window, and the mirror was useless.
