Sleepless night w/ baby --> feel like I've failed as a parent (hormones + sleep dep = IRRATIONALITY) --> taking on onerous tasks this morning just to prove I can!
So after being married nearly 10 years, DH and I finally have a joint checking account to pay our household bills from and I've spent the last few hours setting as many bills as I can to auto-pay. Unless I've missed one (entirely possible, see above re: sleep deprivation) I'm pretty sure the only thing we have to pay manually now is our credit card, since the auto-payment will only cover the minimum due. (And at our current level of debt, paying only the minimum will have us paid off in roughly 10 thousand years, which I understand is not considered a fiscally responsible choice?)
Aw, Jess, if I was just a bit closer I would come over and amuse Aeryn while you sleep. I remember those nights all too well.
Sorry about the sleep deprivation. I remember some of those nights spent in the rocking chair.
Eh, it is what it is. At least the second time around I know this phase will eventually end.
Naturally, now that it's daytime she's been napping peacefully for three hours. I should probably wake her up so she doesn't get her days and nights completely switched, but honestly, I'm too tired to care.

That is the saving grace.
I just got my Penzey's spice delivery--yay! Opening this box was like Christmas, with all the little bottles all wrapped up in paper and wondering what was in the next wrapping. I did order several empty bottles for the spices I have in envelopes at home, so a lot of those little packages were blanks, but that's okay. They tossed in a free sample of their Bouquet Garni, a nice extra, as well as the freebie Minced Garlic I ordered, and the bag of bay leaves was much larger than I imagined it would be.

That's like me and Mario Badescu. Which is pretty sad. I'm not out of anything--I just want to order something because I love receiving their shit in the mail.
I don't think this necessarily qualifies for the Good Stuff tumblr, but it's certainly making me happy this morning.
(shrift, you'll especially like it.)
