Daisy, you're adorable.
I was SO incrdibly cranky last night when I got this hotel after a day of flying. It didn't help that a Facebook friend got me so pissed off last night that I couldn't see straight. I re-read the conversation this morning and I am amazed at how level-headed I stayed when I actually wanted to GO OFF on her and defriend her and frakking shove her sandcastles right back into the frakking water if she'd had sandcastles.
But, I ate, watched 20 minutes of "Momma Mia" and suddenly I didn't want to kill everyone.
So apparently food and Colin Firth butchering Abba are good for the soul.

I declare this to be the new "I will drink your milkshake."
It's also either evil-mastermind brilliant (we kill funding, liberals rush to save the arts financially and have nothing left over to support our political enemies with) or brought to you by the same people who think that they shouldn't need to pay school tax because they don't have kids in school. Or, you know, both.
I think it's two things. 1. The arts should be self-funding. 2. Artists are liberal hippies.
Sweet baby Jesus, this week is starting off with a bang.
Connie, we had Captain Kangaroo as our commencement speaker, AhewasFG!!
I've been following politics less these days
I was really sad to see that Olbermann is gone, but then I realized that that is five hours of my time back to me each week. Anyway, I'd rather watch Rachel for my political TV news fix.
I wonder if that's not part of the point-making people just want to stop paying attention altogether. Then "they" can do whatever "they" want.
Also, Fox hates Mr. Rogers [link] That should be enough to tell you he's on the side of the angels.
Sorry, I'll stop. I just really love Mr. Rogers.
ION court rules that Rahm Emmanuel is not eligible to run for mayor of Chicago.
Eep. That is not good. I'm not a huge fan of his, but the next person behind him in most polls right now is Carol Moseley Braun and I am
really
not a fan of hers. (She may have the distinction of being the one person in Illinois politics who found Chicago-style corruption so sub par she went to Nigeria to find some more.)
This will go to the state supreme court anyway though, and even if it goes against him, having the clear frontrunner out of the race could shake things up.
What a sweet deal, Kat! $15 coming your way, courtesy of a few texts!

Well, maybe they could be if there was universal health care and half of the artists are working "day jobs" for the simple reason that they need health insurance. Seriously, since I paid off my debt, I am pretty sure I could live (in fairly genteel poverty) in just what I could make doing theatre and maybe some other (making curtains etc) things, but I have 2 chronic conditions and never, ever want to give up my health insurance now that I am aging.
But seriously, I don't understand how universal health care could fail to act as a jobs stimulus. First of all, isn't the argument that cutting business taxes enables them to hire more workers-- well if they could stop paying for healthcare, that would save them a lot of money. Secondly, I think there are probably hundreds of thousands of people who would freelance/become artists or entreprenuers if they did not have to worry about becoming sick. ETA: And if we all quit our jobs, there would be more jobs for unemployed people!
