FTR, I overmix the hell out of my pancake batter and it makes tasty pancakes just fine. But they're mostly sourdough starter to begin with, so there's no possibility of just moistening the dry ingredients. But my point is: I don't buy that rule.

I just use the Bisquick pancake mix that comes in those little shake & pour jugs, and it turns out fine.

I hear/see the term "breeders" more often, but then I look at more childfree sites than some of you may.
I was introduced to it to mean heterosexual, and that's why it bothers me. I don't know how Hec's post was using it.
