And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Oh man, I loved Picket Fences with an unhealthy passion. Ally McBeal I put up with for longer than it deserved, and I don't think I've watched a Kelley show since.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I liked Picket Fences a lot when it started, but it lost me after a while.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Man, I loved Ally McBeal at the start. But it did become crazy crap at the end. But it did introduce me to the lovely looks of Lucy Liu, among others, and for that I'm grateful.

Because books.

I watched maybe a few episodes of both Ally McBeal and Picket Fences, and I can't remember why I stopped. Ally sort of annoyed me, I know. What else was I watching then, I wonder? Seems so long ago.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I loved Picket Fences. I think I only watched it when it was in syndication, though.

I started putting up my new insulated curtains. I've got half of them up. It does seem less drafty now. Also, much prettier -- these [link] in green are way better than the green and gold paisley that was there when I moved in. Getting the other half of the curtains up is a bit more difficult -- I've got to stand on the back of the couch, and on that side, there isn't any bookcase to balance with -- so I think I'm going to eat lunch first, then attempt it. (I am, however, very proud of myself for figuring out how to take down the old curtains and put up the new curtains without having to totally take down the curtain rod.)

I know Picket Fences overlapped with X-Files and Seinfeld for me.

Yeah, X-Files was one of my shows.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Steph, I'm sorry about Chloe.

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

Jesse - if you're fighting a cold, best to avoid the massage. They actually make colds MORE difficult to get rid of. I don't understand the mechanics of it, but every massage therapist i've talked to says avoid massages until the cold is gone as the body work tends to "work it in" to the body instead of helping you get rid of it.

{{{Steph}}} So sorry you had to say goodbye to Chloe. It's hard to make that choice, even when the choice is clear.

{{{Jilli}}} Glad to hear about your memorial plans (the tattoo sounds lovely indeed). Good planning will be essential in properly depositing the cremains, as the mouse is infamously against such memorials on its property. Multiple small quantities likely to ensure best soil retention and least security attention.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

Ah, X Files. The BBC (I think) used to show it really late at night. This was not so good for my sleep, what with the being terrified at midnight. I feel like I watched that at a similar time to Twin Peaks, but in reality there were probably quite a few years between their airings on UK TV.
