Teppy, was that by chance a Maranatha (sp?) church? I suffered through some really ugly shit in one of those churches in the late 1980s (it was associated with UCLA).
It was not, but in reading the wiki you linked, there were A LOT of similarities. It wasn't a Charismatic church, but most of the other aspects were the same, particularly the heavy emphasis on the "Shepherding" aspect.

Calli not only took Lulu out because I had to stay at work late, but she drove me to E's wife's wake, because my ride fell through at the last minute, even though it was 25 miles away, and she had to skip her book club to do it. She is the best, best, best, best. I'm really glad I went, because my boss has the flu, and several other folks from our office couldn't make it.
