Oh, be careful, Shrift!

I'm now at the stage with the job transition where I can't schedule meetings because I don't know if I'll be here after February 3rd. And then the people I'm talking to demand an explanation and I have to tell them and it's just embarrassing. Well, embarrassing for my employer, anyway, because it makes them look like idiots, not me.

I also just discovered that two books Amazon hasn't delivered were, in fact, delivered--by UPS on the same day that my cellphone was stolen off the front step. ::facepalm:: I kind of doubt I'll ever get that money back.

not your mom's socks.

Stay safe Shrift! Also, Universe, keep Shrift safe!

oi Consuela.

Ok, so it looks like my UPS person has decided that delivering to my front door is just too hard and is now putting everything on my side porch, which is closer to the gate, but problematic. I don't see the packages and he no longer knocks. This is an issue because I don't necessarily look at the porch for packages, it's a pain to get them inside from there, AND you can see them from the street, which you can't from my door. I looked all over their website for a "are we delivering oddly?" customer service link. Cannot find one. Mostly I want to know why I have a lazier person than the nice smiley UPS guy that I liked.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Should "dachnomania" be "dacnomania"?

Yeah, not so much. When I called UPS about my lost cellphone, they told me that the shipper had to file a report, not me.

I am very nervous about getting anything else delivered now, and of course I have several outstanding orders from Amazon still to be delivered. Argh.

In other news, however, Amazon is re-shipping one book and refunding me the money for the other. Woot. Pretty good customer service, really.

Oh god, I just spent the last 90 minutes working. After a full day.

It's like last week never ended. Pretty much blew any positive attitude from the weekend.

Happy hunting, amych!

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Not only do I want popcorn for dinner, but I want to put butter on it.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I am having popcorn for dinner! Utz cheese popcorn. Because I needed milk, and was hungry.

Good luck, amych.

Stay safe, shrift.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Yeah, that would be scary, shrift.

I'm glad the outcome was as good as possible, under the circumstances, amych. My org. has an opening for a digital library assistant: [link] I think it's a temporary position, but it could be a stopgap until something else opens up.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

Skipped a huge backlog, sorry.

Came back from my trip to find my mom had cleaned/decluttered my room. This is huge. I was trying to psych myself up for doing it when I returned. It's such a load off my mind to have it done. Yay, Mom!

Thanks to JZ for making time to see me while I was bopping around the SF Bay Area. It was a pleasure seeing you and catching up on things JZ-like.
