Now I have to decide which city to watch it in.
There needs to be a bar half in Illinois and half in Wisconsin.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, nail polish, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

Just got an email for the Quarterly Ladies Lunch. Just the existence of this event boggles me, but the description makes it worse.
This is a fun way for us to meet new (company name) "ladies" and catch up with others we don't get to see as often as we would like. If you have suggestions for places you want to go, or know of any new lady hires, please let me know so I can add them to this recurring appointment.
I so want to send a reply asking why ladies is highlighted like that. It's probably because the author--a woman--really wanted to say girls or something, because the word "woman" probably didn't occur to her.
And I'm sure that the lunch won't be a chance to talk about professional development for women or work-life balance or anything like that. No, it'll be about kids and husbands and church and such. Granted, this is a software company in Utah, and the women are nearly all in Sales or HR, but it sounds like some weird support group, like for Amish working at IBM.
I loved Hot Wheels cars as a small child. I think if this was available back then I'd have wet my pants with excitement:
Hot Wheels cars get an upgrade with stunt track camera
Witnessing all of the unexpected crashes from a Hot Wheels car flying down a loop-the-loop track is extremely exhilarating. Soon, every five-year-old boy will be able to see the crazy action, not from above, but from the perspective within the little toy cars.
Mattel's Video Racer is the much-needed upgrade that Hot Wheels cars have been dying for. Equipped with a small video camera that can record at 30 to 60 frames per second, the Video Racer will be able to shoot footage of itself roaring down the stunt track. Video can be played back on the small LCD located on the belly of the car or downloaded to a computer via USB. A special Hot Wheels video editor will even let you cut all of the zany clips together.
You mean the Packers and Bears meeting post-season for the first time since 1941?
Pretty much sure this town's going to be a ghost town for that game--and a dream for every bar owner.
Ran the snow blower this morning but it's still snowing. Hot coffee and some onerous tasks up next.
Wow, Connie- that seems like it is from much earlier in time. And I now have "Ladies who Lunch" stuck in my head.
Wipers replaced. Last time I did this, it was a torturous replacement of just the blades and I suffered for it. Now, all I can get in AutoZone is the full blade contraption. And they offered to put them on. And it was bloody easy. Live and learn. Still gave the guy a couple bucks since the dude before did too, and it's freaking cold out. My hands got numb just washing my windown.
Shitloads of cute!
Baby Bats Rescued After Being Orphaned By Australian Flood (VIDEO)
130 baby bats orphaned by a flood off the Gold Coast of Australia were saved by the Australian Bat Clinic and Wildlife Trauma Centre in the past weeks.
...
Watch the following video, in which NBC's Nightly News displays photographs of the cute little creatures. After all, Brian Williams points out, "When was the last time you saw baby bats wrapped in tiny blankets?"
Heh. That leads me to think about how I use the word "ladies": I call my students ladies and gentlemen, and I will say "a nice lady asked me to..."
When I am sending out emails to my group of girlfriends, I either say "Hey, ladies!" or "Hello, my bitches!"
I guess I use lady/ladies when addressing people, and woman/women when describing something in a more general way, i.e. "it's important for today's women to have blahdeblah."
Guess what? I weighed myself this morning on my scale that, up until today, wasn't able to show my weight because I was over its limit. Well, I got a number instead of an error message! I'm down to 405 pounds, which is 75 pounds since mid-October.
I'm 25% of the way to my goal weight!!!
Yay, Kathy!
