Authorities stopping a suspected drunk driver near Hemet earlier this week found an unusual passenger riding shotgun: a goat.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I've done that. It's either because I really like talking to the person or I really need to pin them down with the email. Sometimes both. So go with the good interpretations.

eta: Uh, not the goat thing. They're in the trunk, bound and ready for the slaughter.

Ann, that's a ferret.

Tom, something like that happened to me yesterday. Person wanted to make sure I was the right person to direct the request to, plus needed to e-mail a document as part of the request.

But often, just silly. Like putting a goat in the front seat of the car.

not your mom's socks.

Is it really necessary to call me to announce that you're going to send me a request in an email? An then type the email while you're on the phone with me?

what are you doing that my mom is part of your userbase?

So I was saying to a friend last night that current ops system has no working UPS, but since we have 2 trunk lines coming in, they wired a redundancy in, and what are the odds of us losing power while operating in this config? But that I was taking no bets.

Yeah. Breakers blew. Lost power to half the systems. Including my archive. About an hour ago.

I just....

Well, OK, FINE THEN UNIVERSE? WHAT ARE THE ODDS OF TWO CLEAN RECOVERIES AFTER CATASTROPHIC POWER FAILURE?!!!

hip deep in pie

The travelling version of Sue the Tyrannosaurus is at the prov. museum. There was a media preview this AM and employees were invited to go. It was great! She is quite awesome.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Sue is awesome! (And so is the Tyrannosaurus.)

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I read this as the TIME-traveling version of Sue the Tyrannasaurus.

Also, that goat looks smug. And cute. But smug.

I call people then email because I prefer to talk about some things as they are hard to explain, but then I want to have the record of the conversation.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Also, that goat looks smug. And cute. But smug.

Well sure. He gets to ride in the car, not like those other chump goats who have to walk their asses to the store.

Huh. Odds are good, apparently. (Just found out my system did NOT lose power. Just the network switch to it. Apparently, this is takes more than half an hour to discern.)
